ANDROID: fuse-bpf: Use fuse_bpf_args in uapi
fuse_args is not suitable for use in the uapi - it is not stable, and contains internal pointers. Replace with stable equivalent. The end_offset values are currently unused and unset, but will be used in a follow up patch by the verifier. ANDROID: KVM: arm64: Use PSCI MEM_PROTECT to zap guest pages on reset
If a malicious/compromised host issues a PSCI SYSTEM_RESET call in the presence of guest-owned pages then the contents of those pages may be susceptible to cold-reboot attacks. Use the PSCI MEM_PROTECT call to ensure that volatile memory is wiped by the firmware if a SYSTEM_RESET occurs while unpoisoned guest pages exist in the system. Since this call does not offer protection for a "warm" reset initiated by SYSTEM_RESET2, detect this case in the PSCI relay and repaint the call to a standard SYSTEM_RESET instead. FROMGIT: arm64/mte: Remove asymmetric mode from the prctl() interface
As pointed out by Evgenii Stepanov one potential issue with the new ABI for
enabling asymmetric is that if there are multiple places where MTE is
configured in a process, some of which were compiled with the old prctl.h
and some of which were compiled with the new prctl.h, there may be problems
keeping track of which MTE modes are requested. For example some code may
disable only sync and async modes leaving asymmetric mode enabled when it
intended to fully disable MTE.
In order to avoid such mishaps remove asymmetric mode from the prctl(),
instead implicitly allowing it if both sync and async modes are requested.
This should not disrupt userspace since a process requesting both may
already see a mix of sync and async modes due to differing defaults between
CPUs or changes in default while the process is running but it does mean
that userspace is unable to explicitly request asymmetric mode without
changing the system default for CPUs.

PSCI v1.1 introduces the optional SYSTEM_RESET2 call, which allows the caller to provide a vendor-specific "reset type" and "cookie" to request a particular form of reset or shutdown. Expose this call to the guest and handle it in the same way as PSCI SYSTEM_RESET, along with some basic range checking on the type argument. FROMLIST: arm64/mte: Add userspace interface for enabling asymmetric mode
The architecture provides an asymmetric mode for MTE where tag mismatches are checked asynchronously for reads but synchronously for loads. Allow userspace processes to select this and make it available as a default mode via the existing per-CPU sysfs interface. Since there PR_MTE_TCF_ values are a bitmask (allowing the kernel to choose between the multiple modes) and there are no free bits adjacent to the existing PR_MTE_TCF_ bits the set of bits used to specify the mode becomes disjoint. Programs using the new interface should be aware of this and programs that do not use it will not see any change in behaviour. When userspace requests two possible modes but the system default for the CPU is the third mode (eg, default is synchronous but userspace requests either asynchronous or asymmetric) the preference order is: ASYMM > ASYNC > SYNC This situation is not currently possible since there are only two modes and it is mandatory to have a system default so there could be no ambiguity and there is no ABI change. The chosen order is basically arbitrary as we do not have a clear metric for what is better here. If userspace requests specifically asymmetric mode via the prctl() and the system does not support it then we will return an error, this mirrors how we handle the case where userspace enables MTE on a system that does not support MTE at all and the behaviour that will be seen if running on an older kernel that does not support userspace use of asymmetric mode. Attempts to set asymmetric mode as the default mode will result in an error if the system does not support it. UPSTREAM: binder: fix freeze race
Currently cgroup freezer is used to freeze the application threads, and BINDER_FREEZE is used to freeze the corresponding binder interface. There's already a mechanism in ioctl(BINDER_FREEZE) to wait for any existing transactions to drain out before actually freezing the binder interface. But freezing an app requires 2 steps, freezing the binder interface with ioctl(BINDER_FREEZE) and then freezing the application main threads with cgroupfs. This is not an atomic operation. The following race issue might happen. 1) Binder interface is frozen by ioctl(BINDER_FREEZE); 2) Main thread A initiates a new sync binder transaction to process B; 3) Main thread A is frozen by "echo 1 > cgroup.freeze"; 4) The response from process B reaches the frozen thread, which will unexpectedly fail. This patch provides a mechanism to check if there's any new pending transaction happening between ioctl(BINDER_FREEZE) and freezing the main thread. If there's any, the main thread freezing operation can be rolled back to finish the pending transaction. Furthermore, the response might reach the binder driver before the rollback actually happens. That will still cause failed transaction. As the other process doesn't wait for another response of the response, the response transaction failure can be fixed by treating the response transaction like an oneway/async one, allowing it to reach the frozen thread. And it will be consumed when the thread gets unfrozen later. NOTE: This patch reuses the existing definition of struct binder_frozen_status_info but expands the bit assignments of __u32 member sync_recv. To ensure backward compatibility, bit 0 of sync_recv still indicates there's an outstanding sync binder transaction. This patch adds new information to bit 1 of sync_recv, indicating the binder transaction happens exactly when there's a race. If an existing userspace app runs on a new kernel, a sync binder call will set bit 0 of sync_recv so ioctl(BINDER_GET_FROZEN_INFO) still return the expected value (true). The app just doesn't check bit 1 intentionally so it doesn't have the ability to tell if there's a race. This behavior is aligned with what happens on an old kernel which doesn't set bit 1 at all. A new userspace app can 1) check bit 0 to know if there's a sync binder transaction happened when being frozen - same as before; and 2) check bit 1 to know if that sync binder transaction happened exactly when there's a race - a new information for rollback decision. the same time, confirmed the pending transactions succeeded. UPSTREAM: fs, close_range: add flag CLOSE_RANGE_CLOEXEC
When the flag CLOSE_RANGE_CLOEXEC is set, close_range doesn't
immediately close the files but it sets the close-on-exec bit.
It is useful for e.g. container runtimes that usually install a
seccomp profile "as late as possible" before execv'ing the container
process itself. The container runtime could either do:

- install_seccomp_profile(); - close_range(MIN_FD, MAX_INT, 0);
- close_range(MIN_FD, MAX_INT, 0); - install_seccomp_profile();
- execve(...); - execve(...);
Both alternative have some disadvantages.
In the first variant the seccomp_profile cannot block the close_range
syscall, as well as opendir/read/close/... for the fallback on older
kernels.
In the second variant, close_range() can be used only on the fds
that are not going to be needed by the runtime anymore, and it must be
potentially called multiple times to account for the different ranges
that must be closed.
Using close_range(..., ..., CLOSE_RANGE_CLOEXEC) solves these issues.
The runtime is able to use the existing open fds, the seccomp profile
can block close_range() and the syscalls used for its fallback.

UPSTREAM: mm: add a field to store names for private anonymous memory
In many userspace applications, and especially in VM based applications
like Android uses heavily, there are multiple different allocators in
use. At a minimum there is libc malloc and the stack, and in many cases
there are libc malloc, the stack, direct syscalls to mmap anonymous
memory, and multiple VM heaps (one for small objects, one for big
objects, etc.). Each of these layers usually has its own tools to
inspect its usage; malloc by compiling a debug version, the VM through
heap inspection tools, and for direct syscalls there is usually no way
to track them.
On Android we heavily use a set of tools that use an extended version of
the logic covered in Documentation/vm/pagemap.txt to walk all pages
mapped in userspace and slice their usage by process, shared (COW) vs.
unique mappings, backing, etc. This can account for real physical
memory usage even in cases like fork without exec (which Android uses
heavily to share as many private COW pages as possible between
processes), Kernel SamePage Merging, and clean zero pages. It produces
a measurement of the pages that only exist in that process (USS, for
unique), and a measurement of the physical memory usage of that process
with the cost of shared pages being evenly split between processes that
share them (PSS).
If all anonymous memory is indistinguishable then figuring out the real
physical memory usage (PSS) of each heap requires either a pagemap
walking tool that can understand the heap debugging of every layer, or
for every layer's heap debugging tools to implement the pagemap walking
logic, in which case it is hard to get a consistent view of memory
across the whole system.
Tracking the information in userspace leads to all sorts of problems.
It either needs to be stored inside the process, which means every
process has to have an API to export its current heap information upon
request, or it has to be stored externally in a filesystem that somebody
needs to clean up on crashes. It needs to be readable while the process
is still running, so it has to have some sort of synchronization with
every layer of userspace. Efficiently tracking the ranges requires
reimplementing something like the kernel vma trees, and linking to it
from every layer of userspace. It requires more memory, more syscalls,
more runtime cost, and more complexity to separately track regions that
the kernel is already tracking.
This patch adds a field to /proc/pid/maps and /proc/pid/smaps to show a
userspace-provided name for anonymous vmas. The names of named
anonymous vmas are shown in /proc/pid/maps and /proc/pid/smaps as
[anon:<name>].
Userspace can set the name for a region of memory by calling
prctl(PR_SET_VMA, PR_SET_VMA_ANON_NAME, start, len, (unsigned long)name)
Setting the name to NULL clears it. The name length limit is 80 bytes
including NUL-terminator and is checked to contain only printable ascii
characters (including space), except '[',']','\','$' and '`'.
Ascii strings are being used to have a descriptive identifiers for vmas,
which can be understood by the users reading /proc/pid/maps or
/proc/pid/smaps. Names can be standardized for a given system and they
can include some variable parts such as the name of the allocator or a
library, tid of the thread using it, etc.
The name is stored in a pointer in the shared union in vm_area_struct
that points to a null terminated string. Anonymous vmas with the same
name (equivalent strings) and are otherwise mergeable will be merged.
The name pointers are not shared between vmas even if they contain the
same name. The name pointer is stored in a union with fields that are
only used on file-backed mappings, so it does not increase memory usage.
CONFIG_ANON_VMA_NAME kernel configuration is introduced to enable this
feature. It keeps the feature disabled by default to prevent any
additional memory overhead and to avoid confusing procfs parsers on
systems which are not ready to support named anonymous vmas.
The patch is based on the original patch developed by Colin Cross, more
specifically on its latest version [1] posted upstream by Sumit Semwal.
It used a userspace pointer to store vma names. In that design, name
pointers could be shared between vmas. However during the last
upstreaming attempt, Kees Cook raised concerns [2] about this approach
and suggested to copy the name into kernel memory space, perform
validity checks [3] and store as a string referenced from
vm_area_struct.
One big concern is about fork() performance which would need to strdup
anonymous vma names. Dave Hansen suggested experimenting with
worst-case scenario of forking a process with 64k vmas having longest
possible names [4]. I ran this experiment on an ARM64 Android device
and recorded a worst-case regression of almost 40% when forking such a
process.
This regression is addressed in the followup patch which replaces the
pointer to a name with a refcounted structure that allows sharing the
name pointer between vmas of the same name. Instead of duplicating the
string during fork() or when splitting a vma it increments the refcount.

PR_SET_VMA
Sets an attribute specified in arg2 for virtual memory areas
starting from the address specified in arg3 and spanning the
size specified in arg4. arg5 specifies the value of the attribute
to be set. Note that assigning an attribute to a virtual memory
area might prevent it from being merged with adjacent virtual
memory areas due to the difference in that attribute's value.
Currently, arg2 must be one of:
PR_SET_VMA_ANON_NAME
Set a name for anonymous virtual memory areas. arg5 should
be a pointer to a null-terminated string containing the
name. The name length including null byte cannot exceed
80 bytes. If arg5 is NULL, the name of the appropriate
anonymous virtual memory areas will be reset. The name
can contain only printable ascii characters (including
space), except '[',']','\','$' and '`'.
This feature is available only if the kernel is built with
the CONFIG_ANON_VMA_NAME option enabled.
