1b750d09fe [media] mxl5005s: fix: don't discard bandwidth changes
There is a bug on mxl5005s logic: when the bandwidth changes, but using
the same delivery system, the code discard the set_params()
reconfiguration request.

This was happening because, in the previous coding, the bandwidth
calculus were after the check for delivery system changes.

The previous patch changed the logic to estimate the bandwidth to
happend together with the changes at the delivery system.

So, with a one-statement change, it is possible to make the tuner to
reconfigure, in order to adjust to bandwidth changes. this will
likely fix issues on countries that use 7MHz/8MHz DVB-T channels.

01ce5a7915 [media] mt2031: remove fake implementaion of get_bandwidth()
This driver implements a fake get_bandwidth() callback. In
reallity, the tuner driver won't adjust its low-pass
filter based on a bandwidth, and were just providing a fake
method for demods to read whatever was "set".

This code is useless, as none of the drivers that use
this tuner seems to require a get_bandwidth() callback.

While here, convert set_params to use the DVBv5 way to pass
parameters to tuners.

0607d07780 [media] dvb_core: estimate bw for all non-terrestial systems
Instead of just estimating the bandwidth for DVB-C annex A/C,
also fill it at the core for ATSC and DVB-C annex B. This
simplifies the logic inside the tuners, as all non-satellite
tuners can just use c->bandwidth_hz for all supported
delivery systems.

It could make sense to latter use it also for satellite
systems, as several DVB-S drivers have their own calculus.
However, on DVB-S2 the bw estimation is a little more complex,
and the existing drivers have some optimized calculus for
bandwidth. So, let's not touch on it for now.

Several protocol initialization routines can fail after they set up
psmouse methods, such as reconnect and disconnect. This may lead to
these stale methods used with different protocol that they were
intended to be used for and may cause unpredictavle behavior and/or
crashes.

Make sure we start with a clean slate before executing each and every
protocol detection and/or initialization routine.

Without this, it was possible for the reader to get ahead of packet_head.
If the input device generated a partial packet *right* after the reader
got ahead, then we can get into a situation where the device is marked
readable, but read always returns 0 until the next packet is finished
(i.e a SYN is generated by the input driver).

This situation can also happen if we overflow the buffer while a reader

50612537e9 netem: fix classful handling
Commit 10f6dfcfde (Revert "sch_netem: Remove classful functionality")
reintroduced classful functionality to netem, but broke basic netem
behavior :

netem uses an t(ime)fifo queue, and store timestamps in skb->cb[]

If qdisc is changed, time constraints are not respected and other qdisc
can destroy skb->cb[] and block netem at dequeue time.

Fix this by always using internal tfifo, and optionally attach a child
qdisc to netem (or a tree of qdiscs)

Example of use :

DEV=eth3
tc qdisc del dev $DEV root
tc qdisc add dev $DEV root handle 30: est 1sec 8sec netem delay 20ms 10ms
tc qdisc add dev $DEV handle 40:0 parent 30:0 tbf \
	burst 20480 limit 20480 mtu 1514 rate 32000bps

qdisc netem 30: root refcnt 18 limit 1000 delay 20.0ms  10.0ms
 Sent 190792 bytes 413 pkt (dropped 0, overlimits 0 requeues 0)
 rate 18416bit 3pps backlog 0b 0p requeues 0
qdisc tbf 40: parent 30: rate 256000bit burst 20Kb/8 mpu 0b lat 0us

32b293a53d IPv6: Avoid taking write lock for /proc/net/ipv6_route
During some debugging I needed to look into how /proc/net/ipv6_route
operated and in my digging I found its calling fib6_clean_all() which uses
"write_lock_bh(&table->tb6_lock)" before doing the walk of the table. I
found this on 2.6.32, but reading the code I believe the same basic idea
exists currently. Looking at the rtnetlink code they are only calling
"read_lock_bh(&table->tb6_lock);" via fib6_dump_table(). While I realize
reading from proc isn't the recommended way of fetching the ipv6 route
table; taking a write lock seems unnecessary and would probably cause
network performance issues.

To verify this I loaded up the ipv6 route table and then ran iperf in 3
cases:
  * doing nothing
  * reading ipv6 route table via proc
    (while :; do cat /proc/net/ipv6_route > /dev/null; done)
  * reading ipv6 route table via rtnetlink
    (while :; do ip -6 route show table all > /dev/null; done)

* Load the ipv6 route table up with:
  * for ((i = 0;i < 4000;i++)); do ip route add unreachable 2000::$i; done

* iperf commands:
  * client: iperf -i 1 -V -c <ipv6 addr>
  * server: iperf -V -s

* iperf results - 3 runs each (in Mbits/sec)
  * nothing: client: 927,927,927 server: 927,927,927
  * proc: client: 179,97,96,113 server: 142,112,133
  * iproute: client: 928,927,928 server: 927,927,927

lock_stat shows taking the write lock is causing the slowdown. Using this
info I decided to write a version of fib6_clean_all() which replaces
write_lock_bh(&table->tb6_lock) with read_lock_bh(&table->tb6_lock). With
this new function I see the same results as with my rtnetlink iperf test.

Stop dual frontend attach in warm state with single devices.

Since this is a no reconnect device this occurs only after a warm system
reboot.

Hi Mauro,

I have made a small mistake on this patch.

1b7acf0ccd [media] xc4000: Use kcalloc instead of kzalloc to allocate array
The advantage of kcalloc is, that will prevent integer overflows which could
result from the multiplication of number of elements and size and it is also
a bit nicer to read.

The semantic patch that makes this change is available
in https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/11/25/107
