6d10aab8f0 drm/vmwgfx: Tighten security around surface sharing v2
If using legacy (non-prime) surface sharing, only allow surfaces
to be shared between clients with the same master. This will block
malicious clients from peeking at contents at surfaces from other
(possibly vt-switched) masters.

v2:

adebcb20e4 drm/vmwgfx: Allow prime fds in the surface reference ioctls
Allow prime fds and at the same time block legacy handles for render-nodes
in the surface reference ioctls. This means these ioctls can be used
directly from prime-aware clients, and that they can be called from
render-nodes.

4649926d04 drm/vmwgfx: Drop authentication requirement on UNREF ioctls
These ioctls will anyway only succeed if the client previously opened
referenced the object. Furthermore, closing the client would implicitly
execute the same action. This prevents clients from blocking on UNREF if
their master dropped, and will allow masters to UNREF after dropping
master privileges.

64190bded3 drm/vmwgfx: Reinstate and tighten security around legacy master model
The following restrictions affect clients connecting using legacy nodes:

*) Masters that have dropped master privilieges are not considered
authenticated until they regain master privileges.
*) Clients whose master have dropped master privileges block interruptibly on
ioctls requiring authentication until their master regains master
privileges. If their master exits, they are killed.

This is primarily designed to prevent clients authenticated with one master to
access data from clients authenticated with another master.
(Think fast user-switching or data sniffers enabled while X is vt-switched).

294adf7d86 drm/vmwgfx: Use a per-device semaphore for reservation protection
Don't use a per-master semaphore (ttm lock) for reservation protection, but
rather a per-device semaphore. This is needed since clients connecting using
render nodes aren't master aware.

The ttm lock used should probably be replaced with a reader-write semaphore
once the function down_xx_interruptible() is available.

The master management was previously protected by the drm_device::struct_mutex.
In order to avoid locking order violations in a reworked dropped master

f2a67d0c27 i2c: mv64xxx: Fix reset controller handling
The reset framework recently gained optional stubs when CONFIG_RESET_CONTROLLER
is not selected. It also introduced a function reset_get_optional, that is also
dummy-defined whenever the framework isn't enabled, for drivers that needs an
optional reset controller.

Switch to this function, since the mv64xxx driver is in this case. This also
fixes a compilation breakage whenever the reset framework wasn't selected:

drivers/i2c/busses/i2c-mv64xxx.c:771:2: error: implicit declaration of function 'devm_reset_control_get'

While we're at it, remove the redundant test on dev.of_node surrounding the
calls to reset framework functions, since it will either be a valid pointer, an
error pointer in the case where we called reset_get_optional without an of_node
pointer or if it failed, or NULL if we're not loaded through DT.

cab5e127ee time: Revert to calling clock_was_set_delayed() while in irq context
In commit 47a1b79630 ("tick/timekeeping: Call
update_wall_time outside the jiffies lock"), we moved to calling
clock_was_set() due to the fact that we were no longer holding
the timekeeping or jiffies lock.

However, there is still the problem that clock_was_set()
triggers an IPI, which cannot be done from the timer's hard irq
context, and will generate WARN_ON warnings.

Apparently in my earlier testing, I'm guessing I didn't bump the
dmesg log level, so I somehow missed the WARN_ONs.

Thus we need to revert back to calling clock_was_set_delayed().

Florian Fainelli says:

====================
net: remove empty MDIO bus reset functions

This patchset removes all empty MDIO bus reset functions that we have in the
tree (hopefully all of them). This function is optional for the MDIO bus code in
drivers/net/phy/mdio_bus.c::mdiobus_register, the documentation is updated to
reflect that.

Having less call sites to update will allow us to implement a generic BMCR_RESET
based PHY reset for MDIO buses that require to reset their PHYs before their
PHY detection succeeds (e.g: HiSilicon hip04 current submission) and provide it
as a helper.
