Geminilake requires the 3D driver to select whether barriers are
intended for compute shaders, or tessellation control shaders, by
whacking a "Barrier Mode" bit in SLICE_COMMON_ECO_CHICKEN1 when
switching pipelines. Failure to do this properly can result in GPU
hangs.
Unfortunately, this means it needs to switch mid-batch, so only
userspace can properly set it. To facilitate this, the kernel needs
to whitelist the register.
The workarounds page currently tags this as applying to Broxton only,
but that doesn't make sense. The documentation for the register it
references says the bit userspace is supposed to toggle only exists on
Geminilake. Empirically, the Mesa patch to toggle this bit appears to
fix intermittent GPU hangs in tessellation control shader barrier tests
on Geminilake; we haven't seen those hangs on Broxton.

For some SoCs the struct imx_pinctrl_soc_info is passed through
of_device_id.data which is const. Most variables are already const
or otherwise not written. However, some fields are modified at
runtime. Move those fields to the dynamically allocated struct
imx_pinctrl.

The underlying problem is that ISA_BUS_API is not meant to be selected by
device drivers, instead it is provided by the architectures that support
ISA add-on card devices, or in case of x86 have this explicitly enabled.
This particular driver appears to be different from the other ISA_BUS_API
based drivers, in that it is not normally an add-on card (ISA or PC104)
but instead is an LPC-attached component on the mainboard. We already
support other functionality provided by this chip, at least
drivers/watchdog/w83627hf_wdt.c and drivers/hwmon/w83627ehf.c, plus
there is a discovery function for this hardware in
drivers/parport/parport_pc.c.
If we want to use this driver without having to enable CONFIG_EXPERT,
it might be better to not use the isa_bus_type for it, but rather
turn it into a platform_driver, acpi_driver or add an MFD for it that
is shared with the wdt and hwmon portions and does the probing.
For now, this patch fixes the dependency by changing 'select' into
'depends on'.

The 'if' logic in ucma_query_path was broken with OPA was introduced
and started to treat RoCE paths as as OPA paths. Invert the logic
of the 'if' so only OPA paths are treated as OPA paths.
Otherwise the path records returned to rdma_cma users are mangled
when in RoCE mode.

rdma_set_ib_path() missed setting path record fields for RoCE
transport when RoCE support was added.
This results in setting incorrect ndev, destination mac address,
incorrect GID type etc errors when user space attempts to set a raw
IB path using the roce IB path compatibility mapping from userspace.

Since 2006 there has been no user of rdmacm based application to make use
of setting multiple path records using rdma_set_ib_paths API.
Therefore code is simplified to allow setting one path record entry.
Now that it sets only single path, it is renamed to reflect the same.

The net namespace is set in addr during create_rdma_id(),
cma_resolve_iboe_route() should use that instead of the
init namespace.
The original code was added in commit fa20105e09 ("IB/cma: Add support
for network namespaces"), but this path wasn't in use back then.
This patch updates the code to use right namespace, as preparation
for improving namespace support.

There is a need to increase number of possible char devices to support
large number of SR-IOV instances. The current limit is in the range of
64-128 devices/ports. Increase it to support up to 1024.
The patch performs the following steps to refactor the code:
1. Removes the split bitmap for fixed and overflow dev numbers.
2. Pre-allocates the non-legacy major number range during driver
initialization, choosen for simplicity.
3. Add new define (RDMA_MAX_PORTS) that is shared between all drivers.
This is the maximum total number of ports on all struct ib_devices.
4. Set RDMA_MAX_PORTS to 1024.

Remove the locks that protect character device bitmaps of
uverbs, umad and issm.
The character device bitmaps are accessed in "client->add" and
"client->remove" calls from ib_register_device and ib_unregister_device
respectively. These calls are already protected by the "device_mutex"
mutex. Thus, the spinlocks are not needed.

Performance improvement:
Current driver calls stream detection unconditionally for all IOs.
Stream Detection logic is not required for most of the fast path IO. To
improve performance, avoid stream detection logic and do it only if
required.
Below are the cases where stream detection is required in driver:
1. All non-FastPath IOs (IOs going to FW)
2. Fast Path reads sent to ReadAhead capable VDs.

Issue – There may be some IO accessing incorrect raid map, but driver
has checks in IO path to handle those cases. It is always better to move
to new raid map only once raid map is populated and validated. No
functional defect. Fix is provided as part of review. Fix – Update
instance->map_id after driver has populated new driver raid map from
firmware raid map.

Driver needs to avoid PCI writes while OCR is in progress. Use
reset_mutex to synchronize between firing DCMDs MR_DCMD_PD_GET_INFO and
MR_DCMD_DRV_GET_TARGET_PROP while OCR is triggered. Without this fix,
if Device/VD add/creation is in progress and at the same time MR
Firmware is going through OCR, user may see OCR never completed and it
may need system reboot. This scenario is rare to occur. Fix is provided
as part of review.

Issue - Driver returns DID_NO_CONNECT when unload is in progress,
indicated using instance->unload flag. In case of dynamic unload of
driver, this flag is set before calling scsi_remove_host(). While doing
manual driver unload, user will see lots of prints for Sync Cache
command with DID_NO_CONNECT status.
Fix - Set the instance->unload flag after scsi_remove_host(). Allow
device removal process to be completed and do not block any command
before that. SCSI commands (like SYNC_CACHE) are received (as part of
scsi_remove_host) by driver during unload will be submitted further down
to the drives.

Currently driver does not validate ldcount provided by firmware. If the
value is invalid, fail RAID map validation accordingly. This issue is
rare to hit in field and is fixed as part of code review.

In megasas_get_seq_num, the status of the DCMD fired to FW is not
returned, it always returns success. We could end up registering AEN
request with incorrect sequence number if the DCMD failed. Return the
DCMD status back to caller. This was discovered during code review and
very rare to see issue in field to see AEN request failed bt FW.

For hardware only supporting active/optimized there's no point in ever
re-issuing RTPG as the only new state we can possibly read is
active/optimized. This avoid spurious errors during path failover on
such arrays.

Reviewer suggested using the ARRAY_SIZE macro. That reduced one of the subtle
inter-dependencies in the parser's tables.
It is important that commands which simulate media access, indicate this in the
flags for that command. The flag to do that was FF_DIRECT_IO. On reflection
FF_MEDIA_IO seems a more accurate description.

Various cdb masks incorrectly assumed the GROUP NUMBER field
was 5 bits long. It is actually 6 bits long. Correct.
Also fix mask failure (in same byte) to allow DLD0 in READ(16)
and WRITE(16).

Some of my development tools tend to add spaces (my preference) rather
than tabs (kernel convention). Running unexpand to clean these spaces
up found more of them than checkpatch.pl did. Then checkpatch.pl
complained about other style violations in those newly tabbed lines.

Performance improvement using block layer tag.
Curent driver gets scsiio tracker and free smid from link list and array
based tracking managed by driver. Accessing list in main io path is
performance pentaly because of protection using spinlock
"scsi_lookup_lock".
In this patch:
1. Driver removes all link list access from main io path and
use scmd->request->tag to get free smid.
2. Instead of holding 'struct scsiio_tracker' in its own pool
driver can embed it into the scsi command.
Driver provides cmd_size in scsi_host_template, so that struct
scsiio_tracker is preallocated by scsi mid layer for each scsi command.
