Solution:
By default,we are using PAO mode for HDMIRX,but we have not
enabled the PaPb search for 61937 raw data input, after add
that, we can detect the raw data, but it can not by clear when
switch from NONE-LPCM to NONE-LPCM, need add IRQ function to
clear that by sw.we enabled spdif in from HDMIRX, which is the same
design as txl/txlx.we can get the Pc information now.
also we add a new interface to set spdif in source when hdmirx input.

This patch adds a bit-banging gpio PWM driver. It makes use of hrtimers,
to allow nano-second resolution, though it obviously strongly depends on
the switching speed of the gpio pins, hrtimer and system load.
Each pwm node can have 1 or more "pwm-gpio" entries, which will be
treated as pwm's as part of a pwm chip.

Patch series "THP eligibility reporting via proc".
This series of three patches aims at making THP eligibility reporting much
more robust and long term sustainable. The trigger for the change is a
regression report [2] and the long follow up discussion. In short the
specific application didn't have good API to query whether a particular
mapping can be backed by THP so it has used VMA flags to workaround that.
These flags represent a deep internal state of VMAs and as such they
should be used by userspace with a great deal of caution.
A similar has happened for [3] when users complained that VM_MIXEDMAP is
no longer set on DAX mappings. Again a lack of a proper API led to an
abuse.
The first patch in the series tries to emphasise that that the semantic of
flags might change and any application consuming those should be really
careful.
The remaining two patches provide a more suitable interface to address [2]
and provide a consistent API to query the THP status both for each VMA and
process wide as well. [1]

Even though vma flags exported via /proc/<pid>/smaps are explicitly
documented to be not guaranteed for future compatibility the warning
doesn't go far enough because it doesn't mention semantic changes to those
flags. And they are important as well because these flags are a deep
implementation internal to the MM code and the semantic might change at
any time.

: of vmas where thp is ineligible.
: Userspace relies on the "nh" flag being emitted as part of /proc/pid/smaps
: to determine if a vma is eligible to be backed by hugepages.
: Previous to this commit, prctl(PR_SET_THP_DISABLE, 1) would cause thp to
: be disabled and emit "nh" as a flag for the corresponding vmas as part of
: /proc/pid/smaps. After the commit, thp is disabled by means of an mm
: flag and "nh" is not emitted.
: This causes smaps parsing libraries to assume a vma is eligible for thp
: and ends up puzzling the user on why its memory is not backed by thp.
In both cases userspace was relying on a semantic of a specific VMA flag.
The primary reason why that happened is a lack of a proper interface.
While this has been worked on and it will be fixed properly, it seems that
our wording could see some refinement and be more vocal about semantic
aspect of these flags as well.

Problem:
complete_ep 0xffffffc05bed2858, ep->queue empty!
1. After adb process be killed, data buffer is freed and
this memory is allocated for the other. But the address
is hold by the controller.
2. Adbd in PC is running. So, the controller receive the
data and write to this memory.
3.The value of this memory is modified by the controller.
This could cause the memory problem.
Solution:
whenever io_data->aio equals 1, the data buffer is from a fixed array.

audio crash when ATV switch channel long time burning test
Solution:
there is a risk to fetch the timer lock. when input stop, stop_timer
will call del_timer, at the same time the function
"aml_i2s_hrtimer_callback" is waiting for the timer lock,after
stop_timer release the lock,"aml_i2s_hrtimer_callback" get the
lock and call mod_timer again, which will set the timer to pending
status. It will cause the next "start input" stage,add_timer will
trigger BUG_ON.Now we put the lock before the active status
checking then we will not touch the timer.

On 32bit kernel, codec cma is located in normal zone by
"alloc-ranges" parameter with large size. This takse up
memory space for kernel and drivers. Sometimes we can see
memory allocation fail log but there are still enought
free pages. But most of these pages are CMA pages.
Solution:
Move codec cma location to high memzone. On 32bit, low
768MB memory is normal zone.
This change also correct first 1MB memory lost problem
for chips later than TXLX

Problem:
1. additional or missing bytes be sent on mosi sometimes.
2. Customer DSP load firmware through SPICC. the loading time is 12s with
buildroot release 20180907 while 6s with 20180131.
3. rx error when work in loopback mode at high speed.
Solution:
1. change to disable irq at the irq-handle begining;
change to enable irq after all data pulled.
2. pre-setup of every spi transfer spends most of time on clk_set_rate().
this time is not obvious while cpu work at a high frequence such as
1000MHz.
In fact, a slave speed is almost fixed and we needn't set it for every
transfer but set only when speed changed.
3. disable auto io delay when in loopback mode.

Disallows open of FIFOs or regular files not owned by the user in world
writable sticky directories, unless the owner is the same as that of the
directory or the file is opened without the O_CREAT flag. The purpose
is to make data spoofing attacks harder. This protection can be turned
on and off separately for FIFOs and regular files via sysctl, just like
the symlinks/hardlinks protection. This patch is based on Openwall's
"HARDEN_FIFO" feature by Solar Designer.
This is a brief list of old vulnerabilities that could have been prevented
by this feature, some of them even allow for privilege escalation:

It has two main use cases:
1) Allow drivers to reset their hardware via a GPIO line in a standard fashion
as supplied by the reset framework.
This allows adhoc driver code requesting GPIOs etc to be replaced with a
single call to device_reset().
2) Allow hardware on discoverable busses to be rest via a GPIO line
without driver modifications.
Examples of the second use case include:
* SDIO wifi modules
* USB hub chips with a reset line
In this second use case the reset has to be done externally to the driver
managing the hardware since resetting the device from the driver's probe()
method will either do nothing (if the device needs to be reset before
ennumeration will work) or cause racy beahviour (when the device disappears
from the bus during probe()).
So, in addition to providing a gpio based reset controller implementation
it is also possible to reset devices at boot via a DT property or from
userspace on request via sysfs attributes.

The acpi_mask_gpe= kernel parameter documentation states that the range
of mask is 128 GPEs (0x00 to 0x7F). The acpi_masked_gpes mask is a u64 so
only 64 GPEs (0x00 to 0x3F) can really be masked.
Use a bitmap of size 0xFF instead of a u64 for the GPE mask so 256
GPEs can be masked.

Some users are willing to provision huge amounts of memory to be able
to perform reassembly reasonnably well under pressure.
Current memory tracking is using one atomic_t and integers.
Switch to atomic_long_t so that 64bit arches can use more than 2GB,
without any cost for 32bit arches.
Note that this patch avoids an overflow error, if high_thresh was set
to ~2GB, since this test in inet_frag_alloc() was never true :

Some applications still rely on IP fragmentation, and to be fair linux
reassembly unit is not working under any serious load.
It uses static hash tables of 1024 buckets, and up to 128 items per bucket (!!!)
A work queue is supposed to garbage collect items when host is under memory
pressure, and doing a hash rebuild, changing seed used in hash computations.
This work queue blocks softirqs for up to 25 ms when doing a hash rebuild,
occurring every 5 seconds if host is under fire.
Then there is the problem of sharing this hash table for all netns.
It is time to switch to rhashtables, and allocate one of them per netns
to speedup netns dismantle, since this is a critical metric these days.
Lookup is now using RCU. A followup patch will even remove
the refcount hold/release left from prior implementation and save
a couple of atomic operations.
Before this patch, 16 cpus (16 RX queue NIC) could not handle more
than 1 Mpps frags DDOS.
After the patch, I reach 9 Mpps without any tuning, and can use up to 2GB
of storage for the fragments (exact number depends on frags being evicted
after timeout)

When nested virtualization is in use, VMENTER operations from the nested
hypervisor into the nested guest will always be processed by the bare metal
hypervisor, and KVM's "conditional cache flushes" mode in particular does a
flush on nested vmentry. Therefore, include the "skip L1D flush on
vmentry" bit in KVM's suggested ARCH_CAPABILITIES setting.

Provide a new KVM capability that allows bits within MSRs to be recognized
as features. Two new ioctls are added to the /dev/kvm ioctl routine to
retrieve the list of these MSRs and then retrieve their values. A kvm_x86_ops
callback is used to determine support for the listed MSR-based features.

Introduce the 'l1tf=' kernel command line option to allow for boot-time
switching of mitigation that is used on processors affected by L1TF.
The possible values are:
full
Provides all available mitigations for the L1TF vulnerability. Disables
SMT and enables all mitigations in the hypervisors. SMT control via
/sys/devices/system/cpu/smt/control is still possible after boot.
Hypervisors will issue a warning when the first VM is started in
a potentially insecure configuration, i.e. SMT enabled or L1D flush
disabled.
full,force
Same as 'full', but disables SMT control. Implies the 'nosmt=force'
command line option. sysfs control of SMT and the hypervisor flush
control is disabled.
flush
Leaves SMT enabled and enables the conditional hypervisor mitigation.
Hypervisors will issue a warning when the first VM is started in a
potentially insecure configuration, i.e. SMT enabled or L1D flush
disabled.
flush,nosmt
Disables SMT and enables the conditional hypervisor mitigation. SMT
control via /sys/devices/system/cpu/smt/control is still possible
after boot. If SMT is reenabled or flushing disabled at runtime
hypervisors will issue a warning.
flush,nowarn
Same as 'flush', but hypervisors will not warn when
a VM is started in a potentially insecure configuration.
off
Disables hypervisor mitigations and doesn't emit any warnings.
Default is 'flush'.
Let KVM adhere to these semantics, which means:
- 'lt1f=full,force' : Performe L1D flushes. No runtime control
possible.
- 'l1tf=full'
- 'l1tf-flush'
- 'l1tf=flush,nosmt' : Perform L1D flushes and warn on VM start if
SMT has been runtime enabled or L1D flushing
has been run-time enabled
- 'l1tf=flush,nowarn' : Perform L1D flushes and no warnings are emitted.
- 'l1tf=off' : L1D flushes are not performed and no warnings
are emitted.
KVM can always override the L1D flushing behavior using its 'vmentry_l1d_flush'
module parameter except when lt1f=full,force is set.
This makes KVM's private 'nosmt' option redundant, and as it is a bit
non-systematic anyway (this is something to control globally, not on
hypervisor level), remove that option.
Add the missing Documentation entry for the l1tf vulnerability sysfs file
while at it.

Add a mitigation mode parameter "vmentry_l1d_flush" for CVE-2018-3620, aka
L1 terminal fault. The valid arguments are:
- "always" L1D cache flush on every VMENTER.
- "cond" Conditional L1D cache flush, explained below
- "never" Disable the L1D cache flush mitigation
"cond" is trying to avoid L1D cache flushes on VMENTER if the code executed
between VMEXIT and VMENTER is considered safe, i.e. is not bringing any
interesting information into L1D which might exploited.

If the L1TF CPU bug is present we allow the KVM module to be loaded as the
major of users that use Linux and KVM have trusted guests and do not want a
broken setup.
Cloud vendors are the ones that are uncomfortable with CVE 2018-3620 and as
such they are the ones that should set nosmt to one.
Setting 'nosmt' means that the system administrator also needs to disable
SMT (Hyper-threading) in the BIOS, or via the 'nosmt' command line
parameter, or via the /sys/devices/system/cpu/smt/control. See commit
05736e4ac1 ("cpu/hotplug: Provide knobs to control SMT").
Other mitigations are to use task affinity, cpu sets, interrupt binding,
etc - anything to make sure that _only_ the same guests vCPUs are running
on sibling threads.

Dave Hansen reported, that it's outright dangerous to keep SMT siblings
disabled completely so they are stuck in the BIOS and wait for SIPI.
The reason is that Machine Check Exceptions are broadcasted to siblings and
the soft disabled sibling has CR4.MCE = 0. If a MCE is delivered to a
logical core with CR4.MCE = 0, it asserts IERR#, which shuts down or
reboots the machine. The MCE chapter in the SDM contains the following
blurb:
Because the logical processors within a physical package are tightly
coupled with respect to shared hardware resources, both logical
processors are notified of machine check errors that occur within a
given physical processor. If machine-check exceptions are enabled when
a fatal error is reported, all the logical processors within a physical
package are dispatched to the machine-check exception handler. If
machine-check exceptions are disabled, the logical processors enter the
shutdown state and assert the IERR# signal. When enabling machine-check
exceptions, the MCE flag in control register CR4 should be set for each
logical processor.
Reverting the commit which ignores siblings at enumeration time solves only
half of the problem. The core cpuhotplug logic needs to be adjusted as
well.
This thoughtful engineered mechanism also turns the boot process on all
Intel HT enabled systems into a MCE lottery. MCE is enabled on the boot CPU
before the secondary CPUs are brought up. Depending on the number of
physical cores the window in which this situation can happen is smaller or
larger. On a HSW-EX it's about 750ms:
MCE is enabled on the boot CPU:
[ 0.244017] mce: CPU supports 22 MCE banks
The corresponding sibling #72 boots:
[ 1.008005] .... node #0, CPUs: #72
That means if an MCE hits on physical core 0 (logical CPUs 0 and 72)
between these two points the machine is going to shutdown. At least it's a
known safe state.
It's obvious that the early boot can be hit by an MCE as well and then runs
into the same situation because MCEs are not yet enabled on the boot CPU.
But after enabling them on the boot CPU, it does not make any sense to
prevent the kernel from recovering.
Adjust the nosmt kernel parameter documentation as well.

Provide a command line and a sysfs knob to control SMT.
The command line options are:
'nosmt': Enumerate secondary threads, but do not online them
'nosmt=force': Ignore secondary threads completely during enumeration
via MP table and ACPI/MADT.
The sysfs control file has the following states (read/write):
'on': SMT is enabled. Secondary threads can be freely onlined
'off': SMT is disabled. Secondary threads, even if enumerated
cannot be onlined
'forceoff': SMT is permanentely disabled. Writes to the control
file are rejected.
'notsupported': SMT is not supported by the CPU
The command line option 'nosmt' sets the sysfs control to 'off'. This
can be changed to 'on' to reenable SMT during runtime.
The command line option 'nosmt=force' sets the sysfs control to
'forceoff'. This cannot be changed during runtime.
When SMT is 'on' and the control file is changed to 'off' then all online
secondary threads are offlined and attempts to online a secondary thread
later on are rejected.
When SMT is 'off' and the control file is changed to 'on' then secondary
threads can be onlined again. The 'off' -> 'on' transition does not
automatically online the secondary threads.
When the control file is set to 'forceoff', the behaviour is the same as
setting it to 'off', but the operation is irreversible and later writes to
the control file are rejected.
When the control status is 'notsupported' then writes to the control file
are rejected.

PD#170175: drm: Centralize format information
Various pieces of information about DRM formats (number of planes, color
depth, chroma subsampling, ...) are scattered across different helper
functions in the DRM core. Callers of those functions often need to
access more than a single parameter of the format, leading to
inefficiencies due to multiple lookups.
Centralize all format information in a data structure and create a
function to look up information based on the format 4CC.
