ce391ac20e net: ethernet: mlx4: Fix memory allocation in mlx4_buddy_init()
commit cbedcb044e upstream.

On machines with much memory (> 2 TByte) and log_mtts_per_seg == 0, a
max_order of 31 will be passed to mlx_buddy_init(), which results in
s = BITS_TO_LONGS(1 << 31) becoming a negative value, leading to
kvmalloc_array() failure when it is converted to size_t.

  mlx4_core 0000:b1:00.0: Failed to initialize memory region table, aborting
  mlx4_core: probe of 0000:b1:00.0 failed with error -12

Fix this issue by changing the left shifting operand from a signed literal to
an unsigned one.

968ec616e7 net: usb: Fix uninit-was-stored issue in asix_read_phy_addr()
commit a092b7233f upstream.

The buffer size is 2 Bytes and we expect to receive the same amount of
data. But sometimes we receive less data and run into uninit-was-stored
issue upon read. Hence modify the error check on the return value to match
with the buffer size as a prevention.

e2da4616ac drivers: net: usb: qmi_wwan: add QMI_QUIRK_SET_DTR for Telit PID 0x1201

Telit LE920A4 uses the same pid 0x1201 of LE920, but modem
implementation is different, since it requires DTR to be set for
answering to qmi messages.

This patch replaces QMI_FIXED_INTF with QMI_QUIRK_SET_DTR: tests on
LE920 have been performed in order to verify backward compatibility.

dbf1ea0b38 tg3: Fix soft lockup when tg3_reset_task() fails.
[ Upstream commit 556699341e ]

If tg3_reset_task() fails, the device state is left in an inconsistent
state with IFF_RUNNING still set but NAPI state not enabled.  A
subsequent operation, such as ifdown or AER error can cause it to
soft lock up when it tries to disable NAPI state.

Fix it by bringing down the device to !IFF_RUNNING state when
tg3_reset_task() fails.  tg3_reset_task() running from workqueue
will now call tg3_close() when the reset fails.  We need to
modify tg3_reset_task_cancel() slightly to avoid tg3_close()
calling cancel_work_sync() to cancel tg3_reset_task().  Otherwise
cancel_work_sync() will wait forever for tg3_reset_task() to
finish.

1f952fce59 ravb: Fixed to be able to unload modules

When this driver is built as a module, I cannot rmmod it after insmoding
it.
This is because that this driver calls ravb_mdio_init() at the time of
probe, and module->refcnt is incremented by alloc_mdio_bitbang() called
after that.
Therefore, even if ifup is not performed, the driver is in use and rmmod
cannot be performed.

$ rmmod ravb
rmmod: ERROR: Module ravb is in use

Call ravb_mdio_init() at open and free_mdio_bitbang() at close, thereby
rmmod is possible in the ifdown state.

740cd42444 net: gianfar: Add of_node_put() before goto statement

Every iteration of for_each_available_child_of_node() decrements
reference count of the previous node, however when control
is transferred from the middle of the loop, as in the case of
a return or break or goto, there is no decrement thus ultimately
resulting in a memory leak.

Fix a potential memory leak in gianfar.c by inserting of_node_put()
before the goto statement.

Issue found with Coccinelle.

01bb0556be Revert "ath10k: fix DMA related firmware crashes on multiple devices"

This reverts commit 76d164f582.
PCIe hung issue was observed on multiple platforms. The issue was reproduced
when DUT was configured as AP and associated with 50+ STAs.

For QCA9984/QCA9888, the DMA_BURST_SIZE register controls the AXI burst size
of the RD/WR access to the HOST MEM.
0 - No split , RAW read/write transfer size from MAC is put out on bus
    as burst length
1 - Split at 256 byte boundary
2,3 - Reserved

With PCIe protocol analyzer, we can see DMA Read crossing 4KB boundary when
issue happened. It broke PCIe spec and caused PCIe stuck. So revert
the default value from 0 to 1.

Tested:  IPQ8064 + QCA9984 with firmware 10.4-3.10-00047
         QCS404 + QCA9984 with firmware 10.4-3.9.0.2--00044
         Synaptics AS370 + QCA9888  with firmware 10.4-3.9.0.2--00040

f1d1fba6b3 bonding: show saner speed for broadcast mode

Broadcast mode bonds transmit a copy of all traffic simultaneously out of
all interfaces, so the "speed" of the bond isn't really the aggregate of
all interfaces, but rather, the speed of the slowest active interface.

Also, the type of the speed field is u32, not unsigned long, so adjust
that accordingly, as required to make min() function here without
complaining about mismatching types.

8512aaa957 bonding: fix a potential double-unregister

When we tear down a network namespace, we unregister all
the netdevices within it. So we may queue a slave device
and a bonding device together in the same unregister queue.

If the only slave device is non-ethernet, it would
automatically unregister the bonding device as well. Thus,
we may end up unregistering the bonding device twice.

Workaround this special case by checking reg_state.

b53_common.c:1583:13: warning: The left expression of the compound
  assignment is an uninitialized value. The computed value will
  also be garbage
        ent.port &= ~BIT(port);
        ~~~~~~~~ ^

ent is set by a successful call to b53_arl_read().  Unsuccessful
calls are caught by an switch statement handling specific returns.
b32_arl_read() calls b53_arl_op_wait() which fails with the
unhandled -ETIMEDOUT.

So add -ETIMEDOUT to the switch statement.  Because
b53_arl_op_wait() already prints out a message, do not add another
one.

f3926733dc i40e: Set RX_ONLY mode for unicast promiscuous on VLAN

Trusted VF with unicast promiscuous mode set, could listen to TX
traffic of other VFs.
Set unicast promiscuous mode to RX traffic, if VSI has port VLAN
configured. Rename misleading I40E_AQC_SET_VSI_PROMISC_TX bit to
I40E_AQC_SET_VSI_PROMISC_RX_ONLY. Aligned unicast promiscuous with
VLAN to the one without VLAN.

33c6254606 net: stmmac: dwmac1000: provide multicast filter fallback

If we don't have a hardware multicast filter available then instead of
silently failing to listen for the requested ethernet broadcast
addresses fall back to receiving all multicast packets, in a similar
fashion to other drivers with no multicast filter.

address filter. This was observed as a failure to correctly receive IPv6
packets on a LAN to the all stations address. Checking the vendor driver
shows that it does not attempt to enable the multicast filter and
instead falls back to receiving all multicast packets, internally
setting ALLMULTI.

Use the new fallback support in the dwmac1000 driver to correctly
achieve the same with the mainline IPQ806x driver. Confirmed to fix IPv6
functionality on an RB3011 router.

1. Added a skb->len check

This driver expects upper layers to include a pseudo header of 1 byte
when passing down a skb for transmission. This driver will read this
1-byte header. This patch added a skb->len check before reading the
header to make sure the header exists.

2. Changed to use needed_headroom instead of hard_header_len to request
necessary headroom to be allocated

In net/packet/af_packet.c, the function packet_snd first reserves a
headroom of length (dev->hard_header_len + dev->needed_headroom).
Then if the socket is a SOCK_DGRAM socket, it calls dev_hard_header,
which calls dev->header_ops->create, to create the link layer header.
If the socket is a SOCK_RAW socket, it "un-reserves" a headroom of
length (dev->hard_header_len), and assumes the user to provide the
appropriate link layer header.

So according to the logic of af_packet.c, dev->hard_header_len should
be the length of the header that would be created by
dev->header_ops->create.

However, this driver doesn't provide dev->header_ops, so logically
dev->hard_header_len should be 0.

So we should use dev->needed_headroom instead of dev->hard_header_len
to request necessary headroom to be allocated.

This change fixes kernel panic when this driver is used with AF_PACKET
SOCK_RAW sockets.

Potentially overflowing expression (ts_freq << 16 and intgr << 16)
declared as type u32 (32-bit unsigned) is evaluated using 32-bit
arithmetic and then used in a context that expects an expression of
type u64 (64-bit unsigned) which ultimately is used as 16-bit
unsigned by typecasting to u16. Fixed by using an unsigned 32-bit
integer since the value is truncated anyway in the end.

On failure pcie_capability_read_dword() sets it's last parameter, val
to 0. However, with Patch 14/14, it is possible that val is set to ~0 on
failure. This would introduce a bug because (x & x) == (~0 & x).

return value of pcie_capability_read_dword is checked to confirm success.

Check the return value of pcie_capability_read_dword() to ensure success.

In commit 71130f2997 ("vxlan: fix tos value before xmit") we want to
make sure the tos value are filtered by RT_TOS() based on RFC1349.

2edf942725 net: lan78xx: replace bogus endpoint lookup

Drop the bogus endpoint-lookup helper which could end up accepting
interfaces based on endpoints belonging to unrelated altsettings.

Note that the returned bulk pipes and interrupt endpoint descriptor
were never actually used. Instead the bulk-endpoint numbers are
hardcoded to 1 and 2 (matching the specification), while the interrupt-
endpoint descriptor was assumed to be the third descriptor created by
USB core.

Try to bring some order to this by dropping the bogus lookup helper and
adding the missing endpoint sanity checks while keeping the interrupt-
descriptor assumption for now.

The commit cited below removed the RCU read-side critical section from
rtnl_fdb_dump() which means that the ndo_fdb_dump() callback is invoked
without RCU protection.

This results in the following warning [1] in the VXLAN driver, which
relied on the callback being invoked from an RCU read-side critical

Fix this by calling rcu_read_lock() in the VXLAN driver, as already done
in the bridge driver.

0216f889f1 net/mlx5e: Don't support phys switch id if not in switchdev mode
Support for phys switch id ndo added for representors and if
we do not have representors there is no need to support it.
Since each port return different switch id supporting this
block support for creating bond over PFs and attaching to bridge
in legacy mode.

This bug doesn't exist upstream as the code got refactored and the
netdev api is totally different.

6015a69228 xen-netfront: fix potential deadlock in xennet_remove()

There's a potential race in xennet_remove(); this is what the driver is
doing upon unregistering a network device:

  1. state = read bus state
  2. if state is not "Closed":
  3.    request to set state to "Closing"
  4.    wait for state to be set to "Closing"
  5.    request to set state to "Closed"
  6.    wait for state to be set to "Closed"

If the state changes to "Closed" immediately after step 1 we are stuck
forever in step 4, because the state will never go back from "Closed" to
"Closing".

Make sure to check also for state == "Closed" in step 4 to prevent the
deadlock.

Also add a 5 sec timeout any time we wait for the bus state to change,
to avoid getting stuck forever in wait_event().
