29a5727780 power: supply: fix residue sysfs file in error handle route of __power_supply_register()
[ Upstream commit 5b79480ce1 ]

If device_add() succeeds, we should call device_del() when want to
get rid of it, so move it into proper jump symbol.

Otherwise, when __power_supply_register() returns fail and goto
wakeup_init_failed to exit, there is still residue device file in sysfs.
When attempt to probe device again, sysfs would complain as below:

sysfs: cannot create duplicate filename '/devices/platform/i2c/i2c-0/0-001c/power_supply/adp5061'

cb0d16587e power: reset: ltc2952: Fix use of floating point literals
commit 644106cdb8 upstream.

A new commit in LLVM causes an error on the use of 'long double' when
'-mno-x87' is used, which the kernel does through an alias,
'-mno-80387' (see the LLVM commit below for more details around why it
does this).

drivers/power/reset/ltc2952-poweroff.c:162:28: error: expression requires 'long double' type support, but target 'x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' does not support it
        data->wde_interval = 300L * 1E6L;

drivers/power/reset/ltc2952-poweroff.c:162:21: error: expression requires 'long double' type support, but target 'x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' does not support it
        data->wde_interval = 300L * 1E6L;
                           ^
drivers/power/reset/ltc2952-poweroff.c:163:41: error: expression requires 'long double' type support, but target 'x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' does not support it
        data->trigger_delay = ktime_set(2, 500L*1E6L);
                                               ^
3 errors generated.

This happens due to the use of a 'long double' literal. The 'E6' part of
'1E6L' causes the literal to be a 'double' then the 'L' suffix promotes
it to 'long double'.

There is no visible reason for floating point values in this driver, as
the values are only assigned to integer types. Use NSEC_PER_MSEC, which
is the same integer value as '1E6L', to avoid changing functionality but
fix the error.

52355fd439 power: supply: bq27xxx: Fix kernel crash on IRQ handler register error
[ Upstream commit cdf10ffe8f ]

When registering the IRQ handler fails, do not just return the error code,
this will free the devm_kzalloc()-ed data struct while leaving the queued
work queued and the registered power_supply registered with both of them
now pointing to free-ed memory, resulting in various kernel crashes
soon afterwards.

Instead properly tear-down things on IRQ handler register errors.

deae21da66 power: supply: max17042_battery: use VFSOC for capacity when no rsns
commit 223a3b8283 upstream.

On Galaxy S3 (i9300/i9305), which has the max17047 fuel gauge and no
current sense resistor (rsns), the RepSOC register does not provide an
accurate state of charge value. The reported value is wrong, and does
not change over time. VFSOC however, which uses the voltage fuel gauge
to determine the state of charge, always shows an accurate value.

For devices without current sense, VFSOC is already used for the
soc-alert (0x0003 is written to MiscCFG register), so with this change
the source of the alert and the PROP_CAPACITY value match.

4f4c9809d1 power: supply: rt5033_battery: Fix device tree enumeration
[ Upstream commit f3076cd8d1 ]

The fuel gauge in the RT5033 PMIC has its own I2C bus and interrupt
line. Therefore, it is not actually part of the RT5033 MFD and needs
its own of_match_table to probe properly.

Also, given that it's independent of the MFD, there is actually
no need to make the Kconfig depend on MFD_RT5033. Although the driver
uses the shared <linux/mfd/rt5033.h> header, there is no compile
or runtime dependency on the RT5033 MFD driver.

64867f4745 power: supply: check if calc_soc succeeded in pm860x_init_battery
[ Upstream commit ccf193dee1 ]

clang static analysis flags this error

88pm860x_battery.c:522:19: warning: Assigned value is
  garbage or undefined [core.uninitialized.Assign]
                info->start_soc = soc;
                                ^ ~~~
soc is set by calling calc_soc.
But calc_soc can return without setting soc.

So check the return status and bail similarly to other
checks in pm860x_init_battery and initialize soc to
silence the warning.

7347ed207a power: supply: lp8788: Fix an error handling path in 'lp8788_charger_probe()'
[ Upstream commit 934ed3847a ]

In the probe function, in case of error, resources allocated in
'lp8788_setup_adc_channel()' must be released.

This can be achieved easily by using the devm_ variant of
'iio_channel_get()'.
This has the extra benefit to simplify the remove function and to axe the
'lp8788_release_adc_channel()' function which is now useless.

[ Upstream commit 87c3d579c8 ]

regmap is a library function that gets selected by drivers that need
it. No driver modules should depend on it. Depending on REGMAP_I2C makes
this driver only build if another driver already selected REGMAP_I2C,
as the symbol can't be selected through the menu kernel configuration.

silly.
