d3490ae821 platform/x86: asus-wmi: add missing pci_dev_put() in asus_wmi_set_xusb2pr()
[ Upstream commit d0cdd85046 ]

pci_get_device() will increase the reference count for the returned
pci_dev. We need to use pci_dev_put() to decrease the reference count
before asus_wmi_set_xusb2pr() returns.

275e69912b platform/x86: hp_wmi: Fix rfkill causing soft blocked wifi
commit 1598bfa8e1 upstream.

After upgrading BIOS to U82 01.02.01 Rev.A, the console is flooded
strange char "^@" which printed out every second and makes login
nearly impossible. Also the below messages were shown both in console
and journal/dmesg every second:

usb 1-3: Device not responding to setup address.
usb 1-3: device not accepting address 4, error -71
usb 1-3: device descriptor read/all, error -71
usb usb1-port3: unable to enumerate USB device

Wifi is soft blocked by checking rfkill. When unblocked manually,
after few seconds it would be soft blocked again. So I was suspecting
something triggered rfkill to soft block wifi. At the end it was
fixed by removing hp_wmi module.

The root cause is the way hp-wmi driver handles command 1B on
post-2009 BIOS. In pre-2009 BIOS, command 1Bh return 0x4 to indicate
that BIOS no longer controls the power for the wireless devices.

f38ad4587b platform/x86: msi-laptop: Change DMI match / alias strings to fix module autoloading
[ Upstream commit 2a2565272a ]

On a MSI S270 with Fedora 37 x86_64 / systemd-251.4 the module does not
properly autoload.

This is likely caused by issues with how systemd-udevd handles the single
quote char (') which is part of the sys_vendor / chassis_vendor strings
on this laptop. As a workaround remove the single quote char + everything
behind it from the sys_vendor + chassis_vendor matches. This fixes
the module not autoloading.

b2fa562af7 platform/x86: msi-laptop: Fix old-ec check for backlight registering
[ Upstream commit 83ac7a1c2e ]

Commit 2cc6c71779 ("msi-laptop: Port to new backlight interface
selection API") replaced this check:

	if (!quirks->old_ec_model || acpi_video_backlight_support())
		pr_info("Brightness ignored, ...");
	else
		do_register();

With:

	if (quirks->old_ec_model ||
	    acpi_video_get_backlight_type() == acpi_backlight_vendor)
		do_register();

But since the do_register() part was part of the else branch, the entire
condition should be inverted. So not only the 2 statements on either
side of the || should be inverted, but the || itself should be replaced
with a &&.

In practice this has likely not been an issue because the new-ec models
(old_ec_model==false) likely all support ACPI video backlight control,
making acpi_video_get_backlight_type() return acpi_backlight_video
turning the second part of the || also false when old_ec_model == false.

d4842b55fd platform/x86: acer-wmi: Acer Aspire One AOD270/Packard Bell Dot keymap fixes
[ Upstream commit c3b82d26bc ]

2 keymap fixes for the Acer Aspire One AOD270 and the same hardware
rebranded as Packard Bell Dot SC:

1. The F2 key is marked with a big '?' symbol on the Packard Bell Dot SC,
this sends WMID_HOTKEY_EVENTs with a scancode of 0x27 add a mapping
for this.

2. Scancode 0x61 is KEY_SWITCHVIDEOMODE. Usually this is a duplicate
input event with the "Video Bus" input device events. But on these devices
the "Video Bus" does not send events for this key. Map 0x61 to KEY_UNKNOWN
instead of using KE_IGNORE so that udev/hwdb can override it on these devs.

fb770d48ab platform/x86: thinkpad_acpi: Fix WWAN device disabled issue after S3 deep
[ Upstream commit 39f5329218 ]

When WWAN device wake from S3 deep, under thinkpad platform,
WWAN would be disabled. This disable status could be checked
by command 'nmcli r wwan' or 'rfkill list'.

Issue analysis as below:
  When host resume from S3 deep, thinkpad_acpi driver would
call hotkey_resume() function. Finnaly, it will use
wan_get_status to check the current status of WWAN device.
During this resume progress, wan_get_status would always
return off even WWAN boot up completely.
  In patch V2, Hans said 'sw_state should be unchanged
after a suspend/resume. It's better to drop the
tpacpi_rfk_update_swstate call all together from the
resume path'.
  And it's confimed by Lenovo that GWAN is no longer
 available from WHL generation because the design does not
 match with current pin control.

commit 6759e18e5c upstream.

On recent Thinkpad platforms it was reported that temp sensor 11 was
always incorrectly displaying 66C. It turns out the reason for this is
that this location in EC RAM is not a temperature sensor but is the
power supply ID (offset 0xC2).

Based on feedback from the Lenovo firmware team the EC RAM version can
be determined and for the current version (3) only the 0x78 to 0x7F
range is used for temp sensors. I don't have any details for earlier
versions so I have left the implementation unaltered there.

Note - in this block only 0x78 and 0x79 are officially designated (CPU &
GPU sensors). The use of the other locations in the block will vary from
platform to platform; but the existing logic to detect a sensor presence
holds.

dcfafc6a2c platform/x86: acer-wmi: Add new force_caps module parameter
[ Upstream commit 39aa009bb6 ]

Add a new force_caps module parameter to allow overriding the drivers
builtin capability detection mechanism.

This can be used to for example:
-Disable rfkill functionality on devices where there is an AA OEM DMI
 record advertising non functional rfkill switches
-Force loading of the driver on devices with a missing AA OEM DMI record

Note that force_caps is -1 when unset, this allows forcing the
capability field to 0, which results in acer-wmi only providing WMI
hotkey handling while disabling all other (led, rfkill, backlight)
functionality.

[ Upstream commit 2a72c46ac4 ]

The commit 78429e55e4 ("platform/x86: toshiba_acpi: Clean up

video_proc_write(). Seems it does the variable assignment in the
wrong place, this results in dead code and changes the source code
logic. Fix it by doing the assignment at the beginning of the funciton.

5307944aa5 platform/x86: alienware-wmi: fix kfree on potentially uninitialized pointer
commit 98e2630284 upstream.

Currently the kfree of output.pointer can be potentially freeing
an uninitalized pointer in the case where out_data is NULL. Fix this
by reworking the case where out_data is not-null to perform the
ACPI status check and also the kfree of outpoint.pointer in one block
and hence ensuring the pointer is only freed when it has been used.

Also replace the if (ptr != NULL) idiom with just if (ptr).

e09cb4c341 platform/x86: asus-nb-wmi: Do not load on Asus T100TA and T200TA
[ Upstream commit 3bd12da7f5 ]

asus-nb-wmi does not add any extra functionality on these Asus
Transformer books. They have detachable keyboards, so the hotkeys are
send through a HID device (and handled by the hid-asus driver) and also
the rfkill functionality is not used on these devices.

Besides not adding any extra functionality, initializing the WMI interface
on these devices actually has a negative side-effect. For some reason
the \_SB.ATKD.INIT() function which asus_wmi_platform_init() calls drives
GPO2 (INT33FC:02) pin 8, which is connected to the front facing webcam LED,
high and there is no (WMI or other) interface to drive this low again
causing the LED to be permanently on, even during suspend.

This commit adds a blacklist of DMI system_ids on which not to load the
asus-nb-wmi and adds these Transformer books to this list. This fixes
the webcam LED being permanently on under Linux.
