0cb5ae4db4 PM / sleep: declare __tracedata symbols as char[] rather than char
commit f97238373b upstream.

Accessing more than one byte from a symbol declared simply 'char' is undefined
behavior, as reported by UBSAN:

	UBSAN: Undefined behaviour in drivers/base/power/trace.c:178:18
	load of address ffffffff8203fc78 with insufficient space
	for an object of type 'char'

Avoid this by declaring the symbols as arrays.

ba28f16cfa PM / wakeirq: report a wakeup_event on dedicated wekup irq
[ Upstream commit 09bb6e9395 ]

There are two reasons for reporting wakeup event when dedicated wakeup
IRQ is triggered:

- wakeup events accounting, so proper statistical data will be
  displayed in sysfs and debugfs;

- there are small window when System is entering suspend during which
  dedicated wakeup IRQ can be lost:

dpm_suspend_noirq()
  |- device_wakeup_arm_wake_irqs()
      |- dev_pm_arm_wake_irq(X)
         |- IRQ is enabled and marked as wakeup source
[1]...
  |- suspend_device_irqs()
     |- suspend_device_irq(X)
	|- irqd_set(X, IRQD_WAKEUP_ARMED);
	   |- wakup IRQ armed

The wakeup IRQ can be lost if it's triggered at point [1]
and not armed yet.

Hence, fix above cases by adding simple pm_wakeup_event() call in
handle_threaded_wake_irq().

c7ca61734b PM / Domains: defer dev_pm_domain_set() until genpd->attach_dev succeeds if present
commit 975e83cfb8 upstream.

If the genpd->attach_dev or genpd->power_on fails, genpd_dev_pm_attach
may return -EPROBE_DEFER initially. However genpd_alloc_dev_data sets
the PM domain for the device unconditionally.

When subsequent attempts are made to call genpd_dev_pm_attach, it may
return -EEXISTS checking dev->pm_domain without re-attempting to call
attach_dev or power_on.

platform_drv_probe then attempts to call drv->probe as the return value
-EEXIST != -EPROBE_DEFER, which may end up in a situation where the
device is accessed without it's power domain switched on.

275d4be9d3 PM / wakeirq: Convert to SRCU
commit ea0212f40c upstream.

The wakeirq infrastructure uses RCU to protect the list of wakeirqs. That
breaks the irq bus locking infrastructure, which is allows sleeping
functions to be called so interrupt controllers behind slow busses,
e.g. i2c, can be handled.

The wakeirq functions hold rcu_read_lock and call into irq functions, which
in case of interrupts using the irq bus locking will trigger a
might_sleep() splat.

Convert the wakeirq infrastructure to Sleepable RCU and unbreak it.

266e02bc69 PM / runtime: Avoid false-positive warnings from might_sleep_if()
[ Upstream commit a9306a6363 ]

The might_sleep_if() assertions in __pm_runtime_idle(),
__pm_runtime_suspend() and __pm_runtime_resume() may generate
false-positive warnings in some situations. For example, that
happens if a nested pm_runtime_get_sync()/pm_runtime_put() pair
is executed with disabled interrupts within an outer
pm_runtime_get_sync()/pm_runtime_put() section for the same device.
[Generally, pm_runtime_get_sync() may sleep, so it should not be
called with disabled interrupts, but in this particular case the
previous pm_runtime_get_sync() guarantees that the device will not
be suspended, so the inner pm_runtime_get_sync() will return
immediately after incrementing the device's usage counter.]

That started to happen in the i915 driver in 4.10-rc, leading to
the following splat:

 BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at drivers/base/power/runtime.c:1032

Unfortunately, the might_sleep_if() assertions in question are
too coarse-grained to cover such cases correctly, so make them

a68d173d32 UPSTREAM: PM / Domains: Allow runtime PM during system PM phases
In cases when a PM domain isn't powered off when genpd's ->prepare()
callback is invoked, genpd runtime resumes and disables runtime PM for the
device. This behaviour was needed when genpd managed intermediate states
during the power off sequence, as to maintain proper low power states of
devices during system PM suspend/resume.

Commit ba2bbfbf63 (PM / Domains: Remove intermediate states from the
power off sequence), enables genpd to improve its behaviour in that
respect.

The PM core disables runtime PM at __device_suspend_late() before it calls
a system PM "late" callback for a device. When resuming a device, after a
corresponding "early" callback has been invoked, the PM core re-enables
runtime PM.

By changing genpd to allow runtime PM according to the same system PM
phases as the PM core, devices can be runtime resumed by their
corresponding subsystem/driver when really needed.

In this way, genpd no longer need to runtime resume the device from its
->prepare() callback. In most cases that avoids unnecessary and energy-
wasting operations of runtime resuming devices that have nothing to do,
only to runtime suspend them shortly after.

Although, because of changing this behaviour in genpd and due to that
genpd powers on the PM domain unconditionally in the system PM resume
"noirq" phase, it could potentially cause a PM domain to stay powered
on even if it's unused after the system has resumed. To avoid this,
schedule a power off work when genpd's system PM ->complete() callback
has been invoked for the last device in the PM domain.

be76931fa7 UPSTREAM: PM / Domains: Remove redundant pm_request_idle() call in genpd
The PM core increases the runtime PM usage count at the system PM prepare
phase. Later when the system resumes, it does a pm_runtime_put() in the
complete phase, which in addition to decrementing the usage count, does
the equivalent of a pm_request_idle().

Therefore the call to pm_request_idle() from within genpd's ->complete()
callback is redundant, so remove it.

9f4dd9f771 UPSTREAM: PM / Domains: Remove redundant wrapper functions for system PM
Due to the previous changes in genpd, which removed the suspend_power_off
flag, several of the system PM callbacks no longer do any additional
checks but only invoke corresponding pm_generic_* helper functions.

To clean up the code, drop these wrapper functions as they have
become redundant. Instead, assign the system PM callbacks directly
to the pm_generic_*() helper functions.

While changing this, it has bocame clear that some of the current
system PM callbacks in genpd invoke wrong driver callbacks. For
example, the genpd's ->restore() callback invokes pm_generic_resume(),
while that should be pm_generic_restore(). Fix that as well.

1bb7f84b8f UPSTREAM: PM / Domains: Allow genpd to power on during system PM phases
If a PM domain is powered off when the first device starts its system PM
prepare phase, genpd prevents any further attempts to power on the PM
domain during the following system PM phases. Not until the system PM
complete phase is finalized for all devices in the PM domain, genpd again
allows it to be powered on.

This behaviour needs to be changed, as a subsystem/driver for a device in
the same PM domain may still need to be able to serve requests in some of
the system PM phases. Accordingly, it may need to runtime resume its
device and thus also request the corresponding PM domain to be powered on.

To deal with these scenarios, let's make the device operational in the
system PM prepare phase by runtime resuming it, no matter if the PM domain
is powered on or off. Changing this also enables us to remove genpd's
suspend_power_off flag, as it's being used to track this condition.
Additionally, we must allow the PM domain to be powered on via runtime PM
during the system PM phases.

This change also requires a fix in the AMD ACP (Audio CoProcessor) drm
driver. It registers a genpd to model the ACP as a PM domain, but
unfortunately it's also abuses genpd's "internal" suspend_power_off flag
to deal with a corner case at system PM resume.

More precisely, the so called SMU block powers on the ACP at system PM
resume, unconditionally if it's being used or not. This may lead to that
genpd's internal status of the power state, may not correctly reflect the
power state of the HW after a system PM resume.

Because of changing the behaviour of genpd, by runtime resuming devices in
the prepare phase, the AMD ACP drm driver no longer have to deal with this
corner case. So let's just drop the related code in this driver.

b0cb7f6099 PM / wakeirq: Fix dedicated wakeirq for drivers not using autosuspend
commit bed570307e upstream.

I noticed some wakeirq flakeyness with consumer drivers not using
autosuspend. For drivers not using autosuspend, the wakeirq may never
get unmasked in rpm_suspend() because of irq desc->depth.

We are configuring dedicated wakeirqs to start with IRQ_NOAUTOEN as we
naturally don't want them running until rpm_suspend() is called.

However, when a consumer driver initially calls pm_runtime_get(), we
now wrongly start with disable_irq_nosync() call on the dedicated
wakeirq that is disabled to start with.

This causes desc->depth to toggle between 1 and 2 instead of the usual
0 and 1. This can prevent enable_irq() from unmasking the wakeirq as
that only happens at desc->depth 1.

This does not necessarily show up with drivers using autosuspend as
there is time for disable_irq_nosync() before rpm_suspend() gets called
after the autosuspend timeout.

Let's fix the issue by adding wirq->status that lazily gets set on
the first rpm_suspend(). We also need PM runtime core private functions
for dev_pm_enable_wake_irq_check() and dev_pm_disable_wake_irq_check()
so we can enable the dedicated wakeirq on the first rpm_suspend().

While at it, let's also fix the comments for dev_pm_enable_wake_irq()
and dev_pm_disable_wake_irq(). Those can still be used by the consumer
drivers as needed because the IRQ core manages the interrupt usecount
for us.

starts on rockchip platform, if cpu's opp table is modified to a specified
value, it will cause an issue.

For example, the initial frequency is 816MHz and voltage set by hardware
is 900mV:
1. there is only one opp whose frequency is 816MHz and voltage is 850mV
in opp table list, as they frequency is equal, the voltage will not be
changed, it is still 900mV and a little too large relative to 850mV.
2. there is only one opp whose frequency is 1200MHz and voltage is 1100mV
in opp table list, as it doesn't set voltage to 1100mV before set frequency
to 1200MHz in the dev_pm_opp_set_rate function, the initial voltage 900mV
cann't supply for 1200MHz, the system crash.
