This avoids a harmless randconfig warning I get when USB_NET_CDC_SUBSET
is enabled, but all of the more specific drivers are not:
drivers/net/usb/cdc_subset.c:241:2: #warning You need to configure some hardware for this driver
The current behavior is clearly intentional, giving a warning when
a user picks a configuration that won't do anything good. The only
reason for even addressing this is that I'm getting close to
eliminating all 'randconfig' warnings on ARM, and this came up
a couple of times.
My workaround is to not even build the module when none of the
configurations are enable.
Alternatively we could simply remove the #warning (nothing wrong
for compile-testing), turn it into a runtime warning, or
change the Kconfig options into a menu to hide CONFIG_USB_NET_CDC_SUBSET.

ctx->drvflags is checked in the if clause before beeing initialized.
Move initialization before first usage.
Note, that the if clause was backported with commit 75f82a703b
("cdc_ncm: Set NTB format again after altsetting switch for Huawei
devices") from mainline (upstream commit 2b02c20ce0 ("cdc_ncm: Set NTB
format again after altsetting switch for Huawei devices"). In mainline,
the initialization is at the right place before the if clause.

When the autosuspend is enabled and occurs before system suspend, we should
wake the device before running system syspend. Then, we could change the wake
event for system suspend. Otherwise, the device would resume the system when
receiving any packet.

The linking status may be changed when autosuspend. And, after
autoresume, the driver may try to transmit packets when the device
is carrier off, because the interrupt transfer doesn't update the
linking status, yet. And, if the device is in ALDPS mode, the device
would stop working.
The another similar case is
1. unplug the cable.
2. interrupt transfer queue a work_queue for linking change.
3. device enters the ALDPS mode.
4. a tx occurs before the work_queue is called.

The list rx_done would be initialized when the linking on occurs.
Therefore, if a napi is scheduled without any linking on before,
the following kernel panic would happen.

Setting dev->hard_mtu to 0 will cause a divide error in
usbnet_probe. Protect against devices with bogus CDC Ethernet
functional descriptors by ignoring a zero wMaxSegmentSize.

Some firmwares in Huawei E3372H devices have been observed to switch back
to NTB 32-bit format after altsetting switch.
This patch implements a driver flag to check for the device settings and
set NTB format to 16-bit again if needed.
The flag has been activated for devices controlled by the huawei_cdc_ncm.c
driver.

Andrey Konovalov reported a possible out-of-bounds problem for the
cdc_parse_cdc_header function. He writes:
It looks like cdc_parse_cdc_header() doesn't validate buflen
before accessing buffer[1], buffer[2] and so on. The only check
present is while (buflen > 0).
So fix this issue up by properly validating the buffer length matches
what the descriptor says it is.

Re-schedule napi after napi_complete() for tx, if it is necessay.
In r8152_poll(), if the tx is completed after tx_bottom() and before
napi_complete(), the scheduling of napi would be lost. Then, no
one handles the next tx until the next napi_schedule() is called.

If a context is configured as dualstack ("IPv4v6"), the modem indicates
the context activation with a slightly different indication message.
The dual-stack indication omits the link_type (IPv4/v6) and adds
additional address fields.
IPv6 LSIs are identical to IPv4 LSIs, but have a different link type.

In their infinite wisdom, and never ending quest for end user frustration,
Lenovo has decided to use a new USB device ID for the wwan modules in
their 2017 laptops. The actual hardware is still the Sierra Wireless
EM7455 or EM7430, depending on region.

Another rebranded Novatel E371. qmi_wwan should drive this device, while
cdc_ether should ignore it. Even though the USB descriptors are plain

Fix the hw rx checksum is always enabled, and the user couldn't switch
it to sw rx checksum.
Note that the RTL_VER_01 only support sw rx checksum only. Besides,
the hw rx checksum for RTL_VER_02 is disabled after
commit b9a321b48a ("r8152: Fix broken RX checksums."). Re-enable it.

Pause the rx and make sure the rx fifo is empty when the autosuspend
occurs.
If the rx data comes when the driver is canceling the rx urb, the host
controller would stop getting the data from the device and continue
it after next rx urb is submitted. That is, one continuing data is
split into two different urb buffers. That let the driver take the
data as a rx descriptor, and unexpected behavior happens.
