b35f34f669 exec: Ensure mm->user_ns contains the execed files
commit f84df2a6f2 upstream.

When the user namespace support was merged the need to prevent
ptrace from revealing the contents of an unreadable executable
was overlooked.

Correct this oversight by ensuring that the executed file
or files are in mm->user_ns, by adjusting mm->user_ns.

Use the new function privileged_wrt_inode_uidgid to see if
the executable is a member of the user namespace, and as such
if having CAP_SYS_PTRACE in the user namespace should allow
tracing the executable. If not update mm->user_ns to
the parent user namespace until an appropriate parent is found.

1c1f15f8eb ptrace: Capture the ptracer's creds not PT_PTRACE_CAP
commit 64b875f7ac upstream.

When the flag PT_PTRACE_CAP was added the PTRACE_TRACEME path was
overlooked. This can result in incorrect behavior when an application
like strace traces an exec of a setuid executable.

Further PT_PTRACE_CAP does not have enough information for making good
security decisions as it does not report which user namespace the
capability is in. This has already allowed one mistake through
insufficient granulariy.

I found this issue when I was testing another corner case of exec and
discovered that I could not get strace to set PT_PTRACE_CAP even when
running strace as root with a full set of caps.

This change fixes the above issue with strace allowing stracing as
root a setuid executable without disabling setuid. More fundamentaly
this change allows what is allowable at all times, by using the correct
information in it's decision.

03eed7afbc mm: Add a user_ns owner to mm_struct and fix ptrace permission checks
commit bfedb58925 upstream.

During exec dumpable is cleared if the file that is being executed is
not readable by the user executing the file. A bug in
ptrace_may_access allows reading the file if the executable happens to
enter into a subordinate user namespace (aka clone(CLONE_NEWUSER),
unshare(CLONE_NEWUSER), or setns(fd, CLONE_NEWUSER).

This problem is fixed with only necessary userspace breakage by adding
a user namespace owner to mm_struct, captured at the time of exec, so
it is clear in which user namespace CAP_SYS_PTRACE must be present in
to be able to safely give read permission to the executable.

The function ptrace_may_access is modified to verify that the ptracer
has CAP_SYS_ADMIN in task->mm->user_ns instead of task->cred->user_ns.
This ensures that if the task changes it's cred into a subordinate
user namespace it does not become ptraceable.

The function ptrace_attach is modified to only set PT_PTRACE_CAP when
CAP_SYS_PTRACE is held over task->mm->user_ns. The intent of
PT_PTRACE_CAP is to be a flag to note that whatever permission changes
the task might go through the tracer has sufficient permissions for
it not to be an issue. task->cred->user_ns is always the same
as or descendent of mm->user_ns. Which guarantees that having
CAP_SYS_PTRACE over mm->user_ns is the worst case for the tasks
credentials.

To prevent regressions mm->dumpable and mm->user_ns are not considered
when a task has no mm. As simply failing ptrace_may_attach causes
regressions in privileged applications attempting to read things
such as /proc/<pid>/stat

67ed0175f0 block: rename the flag of emmc_disk to is_rk_disk
flag of emmc_disk was used to indicate that if the main
disk is for rockchip specific as we need to use rk specific
partition layout. But this name is vague and pointless since
the main disk could be sdmmc as we support sdmmc bootup.
Moreover, we could support more types of storage devices, for
instance, NVMe, UFS etc. Let's rename it to better reflect what

If a driver wants to more precisely control its initialisation and in
particular, defer registering its interfaces with userspace until after
everything is setup, it also needs to defer registering the connectors.
As some devices need more work during registration, add a callback so

a8e959ae30 net: inet: Support UID-based routing in IP protocols.
- Use the UID in routing lookups made by protocol connect() and
  sendmsg() functions.
- Make sure that routing lookups triggered by incoming packets
(e.g., Path MTU discovery) take the UID of the socket into
  account.
- For packets not associated with a userspace socket, (e.g., ping
replies) use UID 0 inside the user namespace corresponding to
the network namespace the socket belongs to. This allows
all namespaces to apply routing and iptables rules to
kernel-originated traffic in that namespaces by matching UID 0.
This is better than using the UID of the kernel socket that is
sending the traffic, because the UID of kernel sockets created
at namespace creation time (e.g., the per-processor ICMP and
TCP sockets) is the UID of the user that created the socket,
which might not be mapped in the namespace.

04ac0fa0d1 net: core: Add a UID field to struct sock.
Protocol sockets (struct sock) don't have UIDs, but most of the
time, they map 1:1 to userspace sockets (struct socket) which do.

Various operations such as the iptables xt_owner match need
access to the "UID of a socket", and do so by following the
backpointer to the struct socket. This involves taking
sk_callback_lock and doesn't work when there is no socket
because userspace has already called close().

Simplify this by adding a sk_uid field to struct sock whose value
matches the UID of the corresponding struct socket. The semantics
are as follows:

1. Whenever sk_socket is non-null: sk_uid is the same as the UID
in sk_socket, i.e., matches the return value of sock_i_uid.
Specifically, the UID is set when userspace calls socket(),
   fchown(), or accept().
2. When sk_socket is NULL, sk_uid is defined as follows:
   - For a socket that no longer has a sk_socket because
userspace has called close(): the previous UID.
   - For a cloned socket (e.g., an incoming connection that is
established but on which userspace has not yet called
accept): the UID of the socket it was cloned from.
   - For a socket that has never had an sk_socket: UID 0 inside
the user namespace corresponding to the network namespace
     the socket belongs to.

Kernel sockets created by sock_create_kern are a special case
of #1 and sk_uid is the user that created them. For kernel
sockets created at network namespace creation time, such as the
per-processor ICMP and TCP sockets, this is the user that created
the network namespace.

There's a couple of places where this would be useful for drivers (such
as reporting DP aux transaction timeouts).

1c0f4e0ebb hotplug: Make register and unregister notifier API symmetric
commit 777c6e0dae upstream.

Yu Zhao has noticed that __unregister_cpu_notifier only unregisters its
notifiers when HOTPLUG_CPU=y while the registration might succeed even
when HOTPLUG_CPU=n if MODULE is enabled. This means that e.g. zswap
might keep a stale notifier on the list on the manual clean up during
the pool tear down and thus corrupt the list. Resulting in the following

This can be even triggered manually by changing
/sys/module/zswap/parameters/compressor multiple times.

Fix this issue by making unregister APIs symmetric to the register so
there are no surprises.

commit 332b05ca7a upstream.

This patch adds a check to limit the number of can_filters that can be
set via setsockopt on CAN_RAW sockets. Otherwise allocations > MAX_ORDER
are not prevented resulting in a warning.
