[ Upstream commit53b76cdf7e] When coming from ndisc_netdev_event() in net/ipv6/ndisc.c, neigh_ifdown() is called with &nd_tbl, locking this while clearing the proxy neighbor entries when eg. deleting an interface. Calling the table's pndisc_destructor() with the lock still held, however, can cause a deadlock: When a multicast listener is available an IGMP packet of type ICMPV6_MGM_REDUCTION may be sent out. When reaching ip6_finish_output2(), if no neighbor entry for the target address is found, __neigh_create() is called with &nd_tbl, which it'll want to lock. Move the elements into their own list, then unlock the table and perform the destruction. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
