commit ed2761958ad77e54791802b07095786150eab844 upstream. The commitf9b11229b7("serial: 8250: Fix PM usage_count for console handover") fixed one runtime PM usage counter balance problem that occurs because .dev is not set during univ8250 setup preventing call to pm_runtime_get_sync(). Later, univ8250_console_exit() will trigger the runtime PM usage counter underflow as .dev is already set at that time. Call pm_runtime_get_sync() to balance the RPM usage counter also in serial8250_register_8250_port() before trying to add the port. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
