[ Upstream commitd59be579fa] mdp5_get_global_state runs the risk of hitting a -EDEADLK when acquiring the modeset lock, but currently mdp5_pipe_release doesn't check for if an error is returned. Because of this, there is a possibility of mdp5_pipe_release hitting a NULL dereference error. To avoid this, let's have mdp5_pipe_release check if mdp5_get_global_state returns an error and propogate that error. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
