[ Upstream commit 581073f626e387d3e7eed55c48c8495584ead7ba ] trafgen performance considerably sank on hosts with many cores after the blamed commit. packet_read_pending() is very expensive, and calling it in af_packet fast path defeats Daniel intent in commitb013840810("packet: use percpu mmap tx frame pending refcount") tpacket_destruct_skb() makes room for one packet, we can immediately wakeup a producer, no need to completely drain the tx ring. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
