Selftests are supposed to run on any kernels, including the old ones not supporting all MPTCP features. One of them is the support of IP(V6)_TRANSPARENT socket option with MPTCP connections introduced by commitc9406a23c1("mptcp: sockopt: add SOL_IP freebind & transparent options"). It is possible to look for "__ip_sock_set_tos" in kallsyms because IP(V6)_TRANSPARENT socket option support has been added after TOS support which came with the required infrastructure in MPTCP sockopt code. To support TOS, the following function has been exported (T). Not great but better than checking for a specific kernel version. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
