During port creation, mlxsw_core_port_init() is called with the front panel port number and the split port sub-number. Currently, this information is determined by the driver without firmware assistance. Subsequent patches are going to query this information from firmware, but this requires the port to be mapped to a module. Therefore, move port mapping before mlxsw_core_port_init(). ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:

There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
