Commit508b09046c("netfilter: ipv6: Preserve link scope traffic original oif") made ip6_route_me_harder() keep the original oif for link-local and multicast packets. However, it also affected packets for the loopback address because it used rt6_need_strict(). REDIRECT rules in the OUTPUT chain rewrite the destination to loopback address; thus its oif should not be preserved. This commit fixes the bug that redirected local packets are being dropped. Actually the packet was not exactly dropped; Instead it was sent out to the original oif rather than lo. When a packet with daddr ::1 is sent to the router, it is effectively dropped. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
