commit3d07fa1dd1upstream. The pipe cpumask used to serialize opens between the main and percpu trace pipes is not zeroed or initialized. This can result in spurious -EBUSY returns if underlying memory is not fully zeroed. This has been observed by immediate failure to read the main trace_pipe file on an otherwise newly booted and idle system: # cat /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/trace_pipe cat: /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/trace_pipe: Device or resource busy Zero the allocation of pipe_cpumask to avoid the problem. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
