[ Upstream commit848bd3f3de] We need to enable runtime PM on this i2c controller before populating child devices with i2c_add_adapter(). Otherwise, if a child device uses runtime PM and stays runtime PM enabled we'll get the following warning at boot. Enabling runtime PM for inactive device (a98000.i2c) with active children [...] Call trace: pm_runtime_enable+0xd8/0xf8 geni_i2c_probe+0x440/0x460 platform_drv_probe+0x74/0xc8 [...] Let's move the runtime PM enabling and setup to before we add the adapter, so that this device can respond to runtime PM requests from children. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
