The vmstat counter NR_INDIRECTLY_RECLAIMABLE_BYTES was introduced by commiteb59254608("mm: introduce NR_INDIRECTLY_RECLAIMABLE_BYTES") with the goal of accounting objects that can be reclaimed, but cannot be allocated via a SLAB_RECLAIM_ACCOUNT cache. This is now possible via kmalloc() with __GFP_RECLAIMABLE flag, and the dcache external names user is converted. The counter is however still useful for accounting direct page allocations (i.e. not slab) with a shrinker, such as the ION page pool. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.

Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
