This change limits function inlining across translation unit boundaries in order to reduce the binary size with LTO. The -import-instr-limit flag defines a size limit, as the number of LLVM IR instructions, for importing functions from other TUs. The default value is 100, and decreasing it to 5 reduces the size of a stripped arm64 defconfig vmlinux by 11%. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
