The CPUID flag ARCH_CAPABILITIES is unconditioinally exposed to host userspace for all x86 hosts, i.e. KVM advertises ARCH_CAPABILITIES regardless of hardware support under the pretense that KVM fully emulates MSR_IA32_ARCH_CAPABILITIES. Unfortunately, only VMX hosts handle accesses to MSR_IA32_ARCH_CAPABILITIES (despite KVM_GET_MSRS also reporting MSR_IA32_ARCH_CAPABILITIES for all hosts). Move the MSR_IA32_ARCH_CAPABILITIES handling to common x86 code so that it's emulated on AMD hosts. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
