commitaa202f1f56upstream. wq_select_unbound_cpu() is designed for unbound workqueues only, but it's wrongly called when using a bound workqueue too. Fixing this ensures work queued to a bound workqueue with cpu=WORK_CPU_UNBOUND always runs on the local CPU. Before, that would happen only if wq_unbound_cpumask happened to include it (likely almost always the case), or was empty, or we got lucky with forced round-robin placement. So restricting /sys/devices/virtual/workqueue/cpumask to a small subset of a machine's CPUs would cause some bound work items to run unexpectedly there. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
