commit4a58038b9eupstream. This reverts commitbb218fbcfa. As Oren Twaig pointed out the old discussion: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/8292231/ that the change coud potentially cause an extra IPI to be sent to the destination vcpu because the AVIC hardware already set the IRR bit before the incomplete IPI #VMEXIT with id=1 (target vcpu is not running). Since writting to ICR and ICR2 will also set the IRR. If something triggers the destination vcpu to get scheduled before the emulation finishes, then this could result in an additional IPI. Also, the issue mentioned in the commitbb218fbcfawas misdiagnosed. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
