commita79a404e6cupstream. Remove a build-time check for the presence of the GCC `-msym32' option. This option has been there since GCC 4.1.0, which is below the minimum required as at commit805b2e1d42("kbuild: include Makefile.compiler only when compiler is needed"), when an error message: arch/mips/Makefile:306: *** CONFIG_CPU_DADDI_WORKAROUNDS unsupported without -msym32. Stop. started to trigger for the `modules_install' target with configurations such as `decstation_64_defconfig' that set CONFIG_CPU_DADDI_WORKAROUNDS, because said commit has made `cc-option-yn' an undefined function for non-build targets. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
