When in a panic situation, non-panic CPUs should avoid holding the console lock so as not to contend with the panic CPU. This is already implemented with abandon_console_lock_in_panic(), which is checked after each printed line. However, non-panic CPUs should also avoid trying to acquire the console lock during a panic. Modify console_trylock() to fail and console_lock() to block() when called from a non-panic CPU during a panic. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
