[ Upstream commit 74ad741948 ]
We've failed to copy and process vhost_iotlb_msg so let userspace at
least know about it. For instance before these patch the code below runs
without any error:
int main()
{
struct vhost_msg msg;
struct iovec iov;
int fd;
fd = open("/dev/vhost-net", O_RDWR);
if (fd == -1) {
perror("open");
return 1;
}
iov.iov_base = &msg;
iov.iov_len = sizeof(msg)-4;
if (writev(fd, &iov,1) == -1) {
perror("writev");
return 1;
}
return 0;
}

Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
