The udl driver for DisplayLink devices depends on support for host-side USB controllers, which is enabled with CONFIG_USB. Plain USB support as given by CONFIG_USB_SUPPORT is not sufficient. This patch changes dependencies for udl to depend on CONFIG_USB, instead of CONFIG_USB_SUPPORT. Users will have to enable CONFIG_USB and select a USB host controller. With this change udl dependencies work the same way as dependencies for PCI drivers. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
