[ Upstream commit4c6d80e114] The pstore_mkfile() function is passed a pointer to a struct pstore_record. On success it consumes this 'record' pointer and references it from the created inode. On failure, however, it may or may not free the record. There are even two different code paths which return -ENOMEM -- one of which does and the other doesn't free the record. Make the behaviour deterministic by never consuming and freeing the record when returning failure, allowing the caller to do the cleanup consistently. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
