copy_mnt_ns() has the old tree copied, with mntns binding *and* anything bound on top of them skipped. Then it proceeds to walk both trees in parallel. Unfortunately, it doesn't get the "skip the stuff we'd skipped when copying" quite right. Consequences are minor (the ->mnt_root comparison will return the situation to sanity pretty soon and the worst we get is the unexpected subset of opened non-directories being switched to new namespace), but it's confusing enough and it's not hard to get the expected behaviour... be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
