Commitbfe9b9d2df("cdc_ether: Improve ZTE MF823/831/910 handling") introduces a workaround for certain ZTE modems reporting invalid MAC addresses over CDC-ECM. The same issue was present on their RNDIS interface,which was fixed in commita5a18bdf74("rndis_host: Set valid random MAC on buggy devices"). However, internal modem of ZTE MF286R router, on its RNDIS interface, also exhibits a second issue fixed already in CDC-ECM, of the device not respecting configured random MAC address. In order to share the fixup for this with rndis_host driver, export the workaround function, which will be re-used in the following commit in rndis_host. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
