commitc9bb40b7f7upstream. When setting SME vector lengths we clear TIF_SME to reenable SME traps, doing a reallocation of the backing storage on next use. We do this using clear_thread_flag() which operates on the current thread, meaning that when setting the vector length via ptrace we may both not force traps for the target task and force a spurious flush of any SME state that the tracing task may have. Clear the flag in the target task. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
