We run into a unused variable warning in bridge code when variable is only used inside the condition of rcu_dereference_protected(). #define mlock_dereference(X, br) \ rcu_dereference_protected(X, lockdep_is_held(&br->multicast_lock)) Since on builds with CONFIG_PROVE_RCU=n rcu_dereference_protected() compiles to nothing the compiler doesn't see the variable use. This commit therefore prevents this warning by adding the condition as dead code. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
