Memcg reclaim throttles on congestion if no reclaim progress is made. This makes little sense, it might be due to writeback or a host of other factors. For !memcg reclaim, it's messy. Direct reclaim primarily is throttled in the page allocator if it is failing to make progress. Kswapd throttles if too many pages are under writeback and marked for immediate reclaim. This patch explicitly throttles if reclaim is failing to make progress. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
