If creation or finalization of a checkpoint fails due to anomalies in the checkpoint metadata on disk, a kernel warning is generated. This patch replaces the WARN_ONs by nilfs_error, so that a kernel, booted with panic_on_warn, does not panic. A nilfs_error is appropriate here to handle the abnormal filesystem condition. This also replaces the detected error codes with an I/O error so that neither of the internal error codes is returned to callers. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
