[ Upstream commit0e141f757b] erspan driver calls ether_setup(), after commit61e84623ac("net: centralize net_device min/max MTU checking"), the range of mtu is [min_mtu, max_mtu], which is [68, 1500] by default. It causes the dev mtu of the erspan device to not be greater than 1500, this limit value is not correct for ipgre tap device. Tested: Before patch: # ip link set erspan0 mtu 1600 Error: mtu greater than device maximum. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
