commitdabf6b36b8upstream. There's an OF helper called of_dma_is_coherent(), which checks if a device has a "dma-coherent" property to see if the device is coherent for DMA. But on some platforms devices are coherent by default, and on some platforms it's not possible to update existing device trees to add the "dma-coherent" property. So add a Kconfig symbol to allow arch code to tell of_dma_is_coherent() that devices are coherent by default, regardless of the presence of the property. Select that symbol on powerpc when NOT_COHERENT_CACHE is not set, ie. when the system has a coherent cache. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
