commit69056ee6a8upstream. This reverts commita76cf1a474("mm: don't reclaim inodes with many attached pages"). This change causes serious changes to page cache and inode cache behaviour and balance, resulting in major performance regressions when combining worklaods such as large file copies and kernel compiles. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=202441 This change is a hack to work around the problems introduced by changing how agressive shrinkers are on small caches in commit172b06c32b("mm: slowly shrink slabs with a relatively small number of objects"). It creates more problems than it solves, wasn't adequately reviewed or tested, so it needs to be reverted. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
