commit5cbf2fff3bupstream. In the current code, we use the atomic_cmpxchg() to serialize the output of the dump_stack(), but this implementation suffers the thundering herd problem. We have observed such kind of livelock on a Marvell cn96xx board(24 cpus) when heavily using the dump_stack() in a kprobe handler. Actually we can let the competitors to wait for the releasing of the lock before jumping to atomic_cmpxchg(). This will definitely mitigate the thundering herd problem. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
