There is currently some confusion between nested and L1 GPAs. The assignment to "direct" in kvm_mmu_page_fault tries to fix that, but it is not enough. What this patch does is fence off the MMIO cache completely when using shadow nested page tables, since we have neither a GVA nor an L1 GPA to put in the cache. This also allows some simplifications in kvm_mmu_page_fault and FNAME(page_fault). The EPT misconfig likewise does not have an L1 GPA to pass to kvm_io_bus_write, so that must be skipped for guest mode. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
