This attribute works the same was as the identically named attribute for PCI, AMBA, and platform devices. For reference, see: commit3cf3857134("ARM: 8256/1: driver coamba: add device binding path 'driver_override'") commit3d713e0e38("driver core: platform: add device binding path 'driver_override'") commit782a985d7a("PCI: Introduce new device binding path using pci_dev.driver_override") If the name of a driver is written to this attribute, then the device will bind to the named driver and only the named driver. The device will bind to the driver even if the driver does not list the device in its id table. This behavior is different than the driver's bind attribute, which only allows binding to devices that are listed as supported by the driver. It can be used to bind a generic driver, like spidev, to a device. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
