commit2b98149c23upstream. It's over-zealous to return hard errors under RCU-walk here, given that a REF-walk will be triggered for all other cases handling ".." under RCU. The original purpose of this check was to ensure that if a rename occurs such that a directory is moved outside of the bind-mount which the resolution started in, it would be detected and blocked to avoid being able to mess with paths outside of the bind-mount. However, triggering a new REF-walk is just as effective a solution. Cc: "Eric W. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
