[ Upstream commit86cdf8e387] There is a possible data race as shown below: thread-A in nci_request() | thread-B in nci_close_device() | mutex_lock(&ndev->req_lock); test_bit(NCI_UP, &ndev->flags); | ... | test_and_clear_bit(NCI_UP, &ndev->flags) mutex_lock(&ndev->req_lock); | | This race will allow __nci_request() to be awaked while the device is getting removed. Similar to commite2cb6b891a("bluetooth: eliminate the potential race condition when removing the HCI controller"). this patch alters the function sequence in nci_request() to prevent the data races between the nci_close_device(). Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
