The databook clearly states that the MSI IRQ (msi_ctrl_int) is a level triggered interrupt. The msi_ctrl_int will be high for as long as any MSI status bit is set, thus the IRQ type should be set to IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_HIGH, causing the IRQ handler to keep getting called, as long as any MSI status bit is set. A git grep shows that ipq4019 is the only SoC using snps,dw-pcie that has configured this IRQ incorrectly. Not having the correct IRQ type defined will cause us to lose interrupts, which in turn causes timeouts in the PCIe endpoint drivers. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
