snprintf returns the number of chars that would be written, not number of chars that were actually written. As such, 'offs' may get larger than 'tbl.maxlen', causing the 'tbl.maxlen - offs' being < 0, and since the parameter is size_t, it would overflow. Since using scnprintf may hide the limit error, while the buffer is still enough now, let's just add a WARN_ON_ONCE in case it reach the limit in future. v2: Use WARN_ON_ONCE as Jiri and Eric suggested. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
