commit91f7d2e898upstream. The patch "usb: simplify usbport trigger" together with "leds: triggers: add device attribute support" caused an regression for the usbport trigger. it will no longer enumerate any active usb hub ports under the "ports" directory in the sysfs class directory, if the usb host drivers are fully initialized before the usbport trigger was loaded. The reason is that the usbport driver tries to register the sysfs entries during the activate() callback. And this will fail with -2 / ENOENT because the patch "leds: triggers: add device attribute support" made it so that the sysfs "ports" group was only being added after the activate() callback succeeded. This version of the patch reverts parts of the "usb: simplify usbport trigger" patch and restores usbport trigger's functionality. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
