[ Upstream commit67de40c9df] Before committing79597c8bf6, *rac97 always be NULL if there is an error. When error happens, make sure *rac97 is NULL is safer. For examble, in snd_vortex_mixer(): err = snd_ac97_mixer(pbus, &ac97, &vortex->codec); vortex->isquad = ((vortex->codec == NULL) ? 0 : (vortex->codec->ext_id&0x80)); If error happened but vortex->codec isn't NULL, this may cause some problems. Move the judgement order to be clearer and better. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
