[ Upstream commit 24b216b2d13568c703a76137ef54a2a9531a71d8 ] The thermal netlink has been extended with more commands which require an encoding with more information. The generic encoding function puts the thermal zone id with the command name. It is the unique parameters. The next changes will provide more parameters to the command. Set the scene for those new parameters by making the encoding function more generic. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
