[ Upstream commit f1a54e860b1bc8d824925b5a77f510913880e8d6 ] The commit0f5251339e("drm/vc4: hdmi: Make sure the controller is powered in detect") introduced the necessary power management handling to avoid register access while controller is powered down. Unfortunately it just print a warning if pm_runtime_resume_and_get() fails and proceed anyway. This could happen during suspend to idle. So we must assume it is unsafe to access the HDMI register. So bail out properly. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
